I think "After the Sunset" (2004) deserves a blu-ray transfer; i'm surprised its not on bluray with how recent it is even. Great scenery and fun movie with Pierce Brosnan and Salma Hayek.

Jackass 3D. Paramount apparently isn't a fan of the 3D movie. They only released a DVD version with the old school red and blue glasses. There reasoning is they wanted people with only DVD players to be able to experience 3D. Which is just a cop out obviously.

I doubt there are plans for a movie like this to ever have a re-release unless they do some kind of bundle pack with all three movies on blu ray.

With all the hub-bub over the Beatles' 50th, I'm surprised there's still no BD for BACKBEAT.

You might see The Black Hole on BD, when Disney does the re-make they are working on. They might do what they did with Tron which was timed to come out on disc with Tron Legacy.

That could be years away, if it even happens. The movie has been broadcast via Showtime (most recently last month). Or, you can rent or purchase it in HD via OnDemand. (Verizon has it at $15.99 to buy and $3.99 to rent). I can say that the Showtime version looked great. (Have it archived on the DVR.)

Good to see Kino releasing Gorky Park (10/21 release date). A very good movie all around but especially memorable for Lee Marvin in one of his final roles, and one of his best IMO.

Sodom and Gomorrah (1962).

I can't believe the Fox "Cinema Archive" DVD release is pan and scan only. And there are apparently some cheesy import DVD's available in fullscreen 16/9 ratio, but that's not correct, either.

I mean, jeez, even the old LaserDisc is 2.35/1 for crying out loud.

The fact that this classic isn't available in its original aspect ratio in a current format is cause for someone to die in a pillar of salt.

Bob Simandl ... somewhere near St. Louis

They are probably too busy debauching themselves and who can blame them.

It's a crime we haven't seen Quick Change on Blu-ray, one of Bill Murray's funnier movies.
