I would love to see The Day of the Jackal on Blu-ray. I wonder why Criterion or one of the other niche labels haven't licensed it for release?

How in the world are we this many years into blu-ray and the studios still don't even have all of the John Hughes classics out on blu-ray?

Or Can't Buy Me Love and Some Kind of Wonderful to complete the 80s movies of those types?

Where is the classic No Way Out? That doesn't even have a proper DVD release!

How is there not a single Bogie + Bacall on blu-ray or Bring Up Baby, but mostly just more obscure old titles?

Why are some studios putting TV series, current ones, as DVD only releases when the quality is so much worse than just 'taping' their over the air broadcasts?
And then they point to slow sales. Duh, it's 2015. I await the VHS exclusive sets for 2020.

I guess they believe they wouldn't make enough profit on older catalog selections. The Blu-ray market is smaller than the DVD market, sadly.

"A Little Romance" (imdb page), is in DVD form and has a [urlr=http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/A-Litt...Blu-ray/43466/] preorder page [/url]. There's a French novel as a follow-on to this teenage romance film. The girl was/is Diane Lane, while the boy actor became a dentist. One principle, Laurence Olivier, is gone (1982) but a movie sequel--xx years later--doesn't seem impossible.
