I would love to see The Day of the Jackal on Blu-ray. I wonder why Criterion or one of the other niche labels haven't licensed it for release?

How in the world are we this many years into blu-ray and the studios still don't even have all of the John Hughes classics out on blu-ray?

Or Can't Buy Me Love and Some Kind of Wonderful to complete the 80s movies of those types?

Where is the classic No Way Out? That doesn't even have a proper DVD release!

How is there not a single Bogie + Bacall on blu-ray or Bring Up Baby, but mostly just more obscure old titles?

Why are some studios putting TV series, current ones, as DVD only releases when the quality is so much worse than just 'taping' their over the air broadcasts?
And then they point to slow sales. Duh, it's 2015. I await the VHS exclusive sets for 2020.

I guess they believe they wouldn't make enough profit on older catalog selections. The Blu-ray market is smaller than the DVD market, sadly.

"A Little Romance" (imdb page), is in DVD form and has a preorder page (see Blu-ray.com). There's a French novel as a follow-on to this teenage romance film. The girl was/is Diane Lane, while the boy actor became a dentist. One principle, Laurence Olivier, is gone (1982) but a movie sequel--xx years later--doesn't seem impossible. And Vivaldi's lute largo , or the whole concerto, still works fine. -- John

Y'know, as mind-numbingly dumb as it is, I'd love a copy of "Kung Pow: Enter the Fist" in my BD collection...

I fondly remember that comedy. Despite the goofy name, it's a fun movie.

Agora is available on Blu-Ray in Europe, but it hasn't come stateside. I'm guessing due to religious sensitivities. It's a shame. It's a fantastic movie.

Somebody has information about a coming release?

I wish these titles would become available

You still can't buy Primary Colors or Body of Evidence or Guilty as Sin or Somethings Gotta Give on Blu-ray.

You would think by now these titles would be available. What is the hold up?

Blu-ray release of Sliding Doors w/Gwyneth Paltrow?

Looks like this has only received a Blu-ray edition in Italy. Anyone heard if we're apt to see this one stateside? Even as someone who's not a huge fan of Gwyneth, my wife and I have always found this to be an underrated and very funny gem.

It would be nice to at least get season 5, since it had an HD DVD release.

Warner has passed a couple of natural opportunities to push the remaining Smallville seasons out, including the premieres of Man of Steel and Batman V Superman. I think we would have gotten them by now if they wanted them out on Blu-ray.

At this point I would like the original Supergirl movie out on Blu-ray. It's not a great movie but there is a fan-base ready to buy it.

I'm with you on the theatrical version of Stripes though and would love to know why that wasn't included on the earlier bluray release. The tacked on Cheech & Chong scene out in the jungle is so out of place with the rest of the movie to me that it just takes away from everything else.

New and updated list (thanks ElJimador and wmcclain)

Milagro Beanfield War
Waterloo (S.Bondarchuk)
One Crazy Summer
Real Genius
Stripes (Theatrical)
One Million Years B.C.

and just to add some:

The 13th Warrior
El Cid (region A) - I know the French multi region is out there, but it's 60+
The Fall of the Roman Empire (Region A) - This one and El Cid may get me to go region free on my Oppo.
Updated list (2 years later)...

These are still not available (as far as I know):

Milagro Beanfield War
Waterloo (S.Bondarchuk)
One Crazy Summer
Real Genius
Stripes (Theatrical)
One Million Years B.C.

The 13th Warrior
El Cid (region A) - I know the French multi region is out there, but it's 60+
The Fall of the Roman Empire (Region A) - This one and El Cid may get me to go region free on my Oppo.

and just to add some:

The Lion in Winter (Region A) - The real one with Katherine Hepburn, Peter O'Toole and Anthony Hopkins.

Now I have bought the DVD's and converted them to Vudu, so in streaming there is a 1080p option for some, but Bluray and eventually UHD 4K (prefer DV) would be incredible for some of these titles with their <fill in your favorite>color or vision.

Brand new 4K restoration at that! Thanks Bill..

Can't lose with a cover of Raquel Welch in a pelt bikini and a Brontosaurus (vegetarian, maybe vegan) eating a human.
