I'd like to know why Blockbuster is not listing a few new Blu-Ray releases that are being offered by Netflix:

Available now on Netflix: Kiss of the Spider Woman; Ten Commandments (new version, not Charlton Heston)

Announced for week from Tuesday on Netflix: Mongol, The Omen (1976)

chix, it is still tossing that error.

Funny, if I go to "My Blockbuster" I can see a snapshot of My Queue but I get the error again if I try to access My Queue from this page.

I just signed up last Friday & I have been able to get in with no problem.


My real question is, when do New Releases show as shipped? I have 2 titles that will be released tomorrow & I thought they would show as being shipped as today, but they are not.

I thought I read earlier in this thread, that new releases come (if you are lucky enough to get them) on the Tuesday that they are released.

Yep, I've been in several times this weekend and haven't had any problems. Seems odd that you haven't been able to...

BTW the slowness I reported is IE 8, my other PC w/ IE 7 works fine.

This is clearly a server side issue that is effecting a fair number of user accounts, and yet Blockbuster seems to be doing very little to fix it. I called their CS department and was told it would take 5 to 7 days to correct.

I spoke to a very educated BB CS rep. He said that the error 500 problem when going into "My Queue" is affecting only certain customers whose account resides on one of their problem servers.

They obviously are trying to fix the issue but have no eta.

The extremely friendly and courteous rep offered a couple of e-coupons due to the issue and to call back later in the week if the issue is not fixed for some more e-coupons.

Ok, what is the protocol for returning to a B/M store? I would imagine that I put the disc in the little mailer, but can I then just slide it into the slot or should I go inside & give it to a live employee? Do I have to make sure that the store actually accepts Blu rays or is it blanket coverage?

Hi lovswr,

I take my sealed mailer into the store and make sure that they scan it properly. This is what triggers your shipment and is the fastest way to get your next title. AFAIK, every store excepts all mailers regardless if it's a DVD, HD-DVD or Blu-ray.

The only reason to return a mailer in a B&M BB store would be to exchange it for another movie from the store. Otherwise, just seal it yourself and put it out for the mailman to pickup.

Most subscriptions to blockbuster online have either a limited or unlimited number of free movie exchanges at a B/M store. If you have one such subscription, do not put the movie mailer in the slot. You have to have the movie in the mailer in hand with the one you picked up at the store when you proceed to the cash register. The employee will scan the mailer as well as the movie you're picking up at the store, and print a receipt which tells you the due date of the movie you've just picked up at the store.
