I'm wondering how many of you guys have an extra player in case your player dies? I have an A2, and don't know what I would do if mine dies in the future. I certainly don't want to have a bunch of HD-DVD's and no player. Thanks.

HD-EP30 (European HD-A30). When that fails then HD DVD=>BD with XBOX add-on and played on PS3. I have this planned long term .

EDIT: HD-XE1 (European HD-XA2) as a player now.

I have an Onkyo HD-805 in my main setup and an A2 in the bedroom.

Sometimes I think my brain has a mind of its own.

I originally bought an A2 when the first came out. Then I bought an A35 during the fire sale. The A2 sits in a TV stand hooked up in the bedroom.

I use an HD-A1 as my main player in my home theatre room. I have a Venturer SHD7000 in the family room and a brand new in-the-box HD-A3 in the closet.

Actually, I carry 2 spares. I really don't have to worry about not being able to play my HD disks for quite some time.

I have a HD-A1 in the bedroom, a HD-A35 in the living room, and a HD-A2 in reserve. I'm thinking I'll be able to play my HD-DVDs as long as I care to.

Currently using an HD-XA1 which replaced the HD-D1 I had been using, as well as a 360 add-on. The D1 is now boxed up in storage along with another XA1 which I recently purchased from a kind poster here on AVS for cheap.

I have an A-30 (bought "open box" from Amazon) and an A-3 (which Toshiba sent me as a replacement for my bricked A-2). I am concerned that this will prove insufficient.

I have an Onkyo 805 in my main HT setup, an A35 that gets very light use in a guest bedroom, and a XA1 that is being used as a CD player right now that can be brought back to HD usage if necessary.

And an XA1 in the closet.

Perfect topic for a poll.... I have 3 HD-DVD players. A1 (retired), A35, A30 (unopened). One day I plan to drop the A1 from my upstairs window and finally get my money's worth for all the times it would hang and I'd have to wait for it to reboot.

Just got back into HD DVD when I saw how cheaply the movies could be had. I have an DV-HD805 inbound (was looking at an Oppo upconverting SD DVD player, got the Onkyo for less than what I could get an Oppo for). I'll put it in my living room, I also have an HD-A2 in my bedroom, and right now I have two 360 HD DVD drives, which I'll probably sell as long as the 805 works okay. I also have an LG GGC-H20L combi drive in my PC, thinking about doing a HTPC in the near future, since I don't have enough headaches dealing with PCs at work...

2 HD players, one xbox addon and one LG BD/HD combodrive.

But only the xbox addon is just as a spare in a worst case scenario.

Using a Onkyo 805 and Toshiba XA2.

Backups:
Another XA2
A20
A2 (my original I paid $299 on Amazon for back in the day)

I planned on using 2 and having 2 backups, but I got in on the refurbished Onkyo deal for $106 shipped and it turned out to be brand new so I couldn't bring myself to part with it.

I actually had somewhere around 14 players at one time. Down to 5.
