I think it would of been a class act if Toshiba released it's first Blu-Ray player with HD-DVD playback supported. It would go a long way to smooth over relations with people who trusted Tosh when they bought into HD-DVD and would really make a statement of "We stand behind our product and our consumers for the long run." That alone would definitely by it more customers which would eventually help its bottom line.

I agree with you but do you think that the BDA is going to let that happen?

If Toshiba wanted to have HD DVD support in their Blu-ray player they could have added it. Also there is a thread in the Blu-ray players section on the Toshiba Blu-ray player.

They're not going to add to the expense of their player by including HD DVD. It's a dead format. Time for all of us to accept it.

Adding more complexity to the design and user interface for HD DVD? Not worth it. The combos that were available for a short while had their issues trying to be the best of both.
