Ive been reading a lot about how there is an issue with deinterlacing when setting the player to 1080p60, now does this actually create visible artifacts or what? Im a bit confused.

I've read those same stories also, but my first player was an A-30 and I still run that A-30 in a 2ndary set-up and have never experienced any issues with the TV being used (46" Sharp 1080P set not capable of 24fps). I expect some of the complaints were overblown as much of it was still in the format war with folks sniping at most any little thing in both directions. Play your high def titles and enjoy . . .

The issues with viewing film shoot at 24 Fps and viewed on a TV or projector at 60P is micro judder. It most likely is not noticeable in the movie content but during scrolling of the credits the lines of text will jump or judder slightly. My HT does operate at both 60P and 24P. I have to manually set it in the external video processor. Every once in a while I forget to set it properly and usually don't notice it until the end of the film when the credits are shown. Other may see it more frequently. During panning shots it does show up as well but only if you have viewed both 60 and 24P formats before.

We arent talking about 3:2 pulldown artifacts. I know all about that.
