My region free DVD player was misplaced during/after a move and I haven't been able to find it. I was poking around the web looking for an inexpensive replacement and saw some info regarding the hackability of the Samsung C500 DVD player. I've found quite a few units that, for whatever reason, don't include the remote. I have a 2007-era Samsung TV (model LN-T4053H) but I've never had any reason to try any of the AnyNet features.

Here's my question - I know the way to make the player into a region free one involves a bunch of sequential key presses on the remote. Would there be any likelihood that my Samsung TV remote could/would interface with the DVD player, making the hack possible without buying a replacement remote?

Thanks in advance for any educated guesses.
