Just got the ad for Best Buy next week. You can get the A2 there plus 2 free movies. They're having the same deal for BD as well. They show both players right next to each other.

In fact, I noticed a lot of ads for both players for next week. I guess things are really starting to ramp up.

Think those that got the Tech Depot price match can get the 2 free as well? Not sure I want to challenge the CS line after Christmas to be declined.

I think I'm gonna try today, even though they pricematched tech depot on both my A2's.
All they can say is no and I can always go back after christmas when they are really, really busy and be more inclined to give in to keep the line a movin.

I bought mine last week with the Tech depots price match, if we had already bought it can we bring in the receipt and ask them for the 2 free movies?? Do you think this will work since its within the 30 day return period?? That would bring the price down to $350.

WHAT? HD DVD in a BB ad! I thought this was reserved for BluRay? Anyway, good news for the HD-DVD camp. Were getting some exposure.

I bought my A2 yesterday and took the receipt in this afternoon to see if they would honor a "return" so I could get the 2 free movies and guess what? THEY DID!! No hassles or anything. Stupid me...I should have picked up Smallville thinking they might not honor a box set I picked up 2 other titles. Then I went online to their site and ta da!!! It does zero out Smallville to free. Sorry it doesn't apply to The Sopranos set...I tried that one too.

I tried today 2 get the 2 free movies. Waited in line and asked how to get the free movies. Girl told me to get the movies and she will take care of it. I thought it was really gonna work. Got the movies, waited in line and got another noob girl. She was gonna do it but didnt know how to ring it up so went to the manager. Came back and said they cannot honor it, I argued for about 5 minutes and then she gets the manager who finally says its against the price guarantee policy. I challenged her and then the manager fumbled around for the "policy" and there is was.

Stage 2 is going back after christmas, waiting in line with the discs in hand and hope the person just rings it up. Ha-Ha. So close yet soo far. Close but not cigar.

This would make a nice deal!!!! $170 off the two sets.
OR
Better yet ($200 value), you could get 2 Mission Impossible sets.

Keep one and then sell the other or give it away as a gift.

Tried adding to the cart and it works for delivery and pick up in store.

Theres a Toshiba rebate for 3 HD DVDs. Is it possible to get the 2 from Best Buy and then the 3 from Toshiba? Or does best buy cut the upc from the box?

Just bear in mind, guys, that **************** also gives 2 free titles (along with the 3 free from Toshiba via slow rebate) for $465 shipped - no tax. If you can delay the gratification a week, far better deal than BB, imho - but no box sets from VE.

Not a better deal from VE if you're allowed to get those boxed sets.

Hell, i'd think about it if I could get the boxed sets and just sell them.

it'd come out next to nothing.

Not sure about the smallville but I got my MI box set for $47. Not sure what it'd fetch on eBay. I think the sales tax will wash out any savings but don't let me stop you

not having analog-out is stopping me.

if one got two superman boxed sets or even sopranos plus the 3 free dvd's and sold them...that would be a good $150-200 off the price, no?

There's not a damn HD movie out right now that i'm interested in...so I could care less. Just saying.

Anyone else have any luck. I could just say that I will return it and rebuy it if they don't honer the deal, since its still withing the 30 day period, and that will just make it hard on everyone, so just go ahead and give it too me.
