And yes, I do think it will happen, because there's an entire generation that has grown up with downloadable music and DIVX movies that they've pirated and they are more than willing to pay $5 to download an HD movie for conveniance sake.
Well Television HD is Mpeg-2 if I'm not mistaken. But a more efficient codec like AVC or VC-1 can make an 8gb movie look great. I mean, have you seen those combo HD-DVD discs that have the HD movie on a single layer 15GB disc? Looks great to me.
Obviously that's not as good as 30gb VC-1, but it won't be DVD mpeg-2 quality either as long as it uses AVC, which being an apple device, is practically guaranteed.
