Receive the 2.2 update in the mail. I thought, should I do this? I was still running 1.0. Put the disk in. Confirmed I wanted to upgrade by selecting yes and hit "ok". Player starts loading software 5%, 10%, 15%----- all the way to 80% then it just stays at 80%. After about an hour it still is at 80%.

Arggg! Why didn't I leave well enough alone

What do I do now? They said not to turn it off while updating.

Ok, I unplugged it since it was non responsive to anything. Made sure the power supply was drained. Turned it back on and got the update disc back out. Cleaned it and put it back in. The player has allowed me to again confirm if I want to up date and I selected yes.

It says it is updating. Stay tuned. Fingers crossed.

Update completed! The player turned off. I turned it back on and played a disc.
Verified through the maintenance screen rev 2.2.

Whew, I though I had a paper weight for awhile there.

Glad to hear your player's still OK. FWIW, 2.2 has been flawless for me. Fixed the HDMI->DVI issue that 2.1 caused, decreased boot time by 33%. Drive makes more noise when loading a disc, but that's the only downside, and it's extremely minimal.

Silence is Golden. Duct Tape is Silver.

Interesting you should mention drive noise. I noticed this after updating to 2.2. Never noticed it before. Is this a result of the software?? I just thought it must have been there before an I never noticed it.
