The $408 price was directly from Amazon.com two days ago. They dropped it to $369.00 yesterdasy and refunded the difference via phone last night.

"Great job, Kevin! I love it when these empty boasts get BS-checked!"

In case someone hasn't checked themselves--Amazon.com lowered the price of the A35 to $369.00 on Saturday (not some Electronics marketplace offshoot) and yes they gave me a $39.00 credit last night via phone.

Congrats! That's a great price! You should have bought a second one I check in often but missed this price (the lowest one I've seen was this morning's $398.88). I sent an email this morning to see if they'll honor the $369.

If more of us valued food and cheer above hoarded gold, it would be a much merrier world.

The only $369 price I saw on Saturday was through the EE vendor on Amazon. I am not saying you were wrong but the majority of Saturday had the A35 through EE. The price you found must have been a very short lived deal.

The A35 is now down to $398 directly from Amazon.com.

Why is the A35 price fluctuating so much on the A35 from Amazon.com---when I started seriously looking on Thursday it was $420- hence the thread title--by the time I got home two hours later it was $408 (aro 5pm)-- I ordered it and got an email Friday it had already shipped (not bad) but then Saturday I rechecked this thread in the afternoon and someone had posted that it had dipped to $369. Sure enough it was $369. So Saturday night I called Amazon and got my $39 refund. I check this morning (Sunday-28th) and its back to $398.00--4 different prices in less than 3 days??? Is this normal for Amazon?

I've seen it for many items they sell. The price varies depending upon demand.

Yeah - use that call back feature, it works instantly. I ordered yesterday for $407.88 and got a credit for the price difference of the current $361.88 price.

EDIT: Amazon did give me a credit for the price difference between 407.88 & 361.88, even though I didn't realize until checking the other thread and then Amazon - that $361.88 price is from Electronics Expo, and does not include Free Shipping. Guess I was lucky, but them I have been and will continue to be a loyal Amazon customer.

I just called... No dice. They only refunded my price down to the $398 price. They kept me on hold for about 4 minutes and came back saying the $360 price was from a merchant.

Oh well...

Everyone that is reporting the 360-369 price range.....are they certain it was Amazon and NOT an amazon merchant (electronics expo)?

I spoke to a rep tonight and she claims their price never was below 398xx

It has never been sold for less than $398 from Amazon. The $361 price was through Electronics Expo and had a ~$30 shipping charge.

Whoever was able to get Amazon to price match was lucky because they aren't matching it anymore.

They did tell me that if it drops again they will gladly refund more money.

The big one for me, and anyone else w/o a HDMI enabled AVR or pre/pro are the 5.1 analog outputs. This allows one to get the full benifit of any of the advanced audio codecs that the player is capable of decoding.

That's because the $369 price was from Electronics Expo. Amazon.com's price has never been $369. It is $398 now, down from $408, which makes sense. If you did actually get Amazon to refund you the difference in price that belonged to a third-party vendor, lucky for you.

Actually, I think Amazon did briefly lower their price to $369. When I placed a A35 in my cart today, it took me to a page which stated that the A35 (I previously had in my cart-and forgot) went from $499 to $369 and was now $398....so it seems Amazon was that low sometime over the weekend.

Side note, it looks like Electronic Expo isn't listed or if they are now, the Amazon merchants are showing a low price of $398...either way it appears the $360 range pricing isn't currently available. (though EE's delivered price with the $29 shipping=net same as Amazon price w/their free shipping @$398).

Hmm... The CSR I spoke to said he was looking at a grid of every price change they (Amazon) have had on the A35 and it had never dipped below $398. Maybe it was a mistake and they are lying.

The EE price was at 369 + shipping Sunday AM. When I checked Sunday afternoon Amazon matched the price with free shipping. Then 1-2 hours later Amazon went back to 398. This Am EE changed their price to 499. Ihad them both saved in my basket and watched the price changes during commercials watching football games. Shoulda grabbed the Amazon 369 when I saw it.

PS3 and A2 - just want my HD
