I just paid $200 for a used BD-P1000 shipped and I'm entirely ok with that -- it's a decent player! However, I also own an A2 and that is one fine player at that price -- I feel as though I should buy a spare !

No, Wal-mart does NOT report to Videoscan. The Nielsen Predictions thread specifically states this every week, and it has been confirmed by other people on the forum. I can't find a specific link, but if you don't believe me, go ask in the Videoscan thread in the HD software section if Wal-mart is reported in Videoscan or not. They will tell you they're not.

yes, my bad you are correct I forgot they pulled out that's what she said
just one of many reasons why I hate WM in the first place
I do know Nielsen has some stores "weighted" to account for non reporting stores

Following yearly incidents, I expect casualties on Friday because of these deals at Walmart.

I predict the Blu-Ray spin will be "HD-DVD players injure shoppers."

Hi guys...

Sorry i wasn't able to get any further news about cheap HD DVD players from Fuh Yuan.

However i did predict that the HD DVD players will be sold for as low as USD99 at around this time somewhere back in June 2007, if i'm not mistaken.

Now, reading about the players on offer at Wal-Mart which is on my birthday (2nd November) gave me reasons to smile though i couldn't get one in my country.

Seems like the A2 is filling in for cheap, chinese HD DVD players.

Have fun, everyone.

Cheers.

Good move for HD DVD catch up to the 5.4 million (and counting) worldwide PS3 installed base.

Although with the $399 PS3 being launched (which was a successful price point for the X360), it still might not be enough.

Lets see if this Wal-Mart sale helps HD DVD win software sales for one week. Baby steps.

$499 at Harvey Normans and rumored to be cheaper shortly @ JB HiFi. prices are dropping fairly quickly, all though not fast enough!

It's a one day sale...And it's the A2.

It's not the Coup de Grace. it's nothing but a one day sale at a Wal-Mart which MAY or MAY NOT have the A2 there...

Am I missing something? I cannot find any Toshiba HD-DVD player on the WM website at all, so I can't check for availability in my area. How are you guys finding this player on their site? Got a link, maybe?

Thanks,

Ah, I'm an idiot. I saw that, but missed where it said "Available". Thanks, much.

Btw, I called all the stores in my area and they all said they didn't have them, while the site says they all do. So don't go by the store people say, they didn't even know about the sale when I called this morning!
