Yes, you can!

I don't think there will be so many people that you will have to stand in line.

Just picked my HD-A2 up @ BB. Bought online, but neglected to add the 2 free movies (HD-A2's don't appear to qualify if you check their link for the offer).

Got to the store & a mgr was working @ the pick up counter. Told his employee (he seemed to be training) to return it, then sell it back @ the same price, then instructed me to grab 2 movies, which would be free.

Got J Carpenter's THE THING @ 40 YR OLD VIRGIN free, and bought TRANSFORMERS.

Congrats on the buy!

I love Harmony's -- I'm so anxious to use this thing I decided to download the Harmony software on my work computer, add the HD-A2 to my "Devices" list, and set up a "Watch HD-DVD" activity, so when I go home I can just update my remote and be ready to go!!

Since I don't have the original remote, did you have any problems getting your Harmony to work with the A2? Anything funny I should know about? I know some devices take a little massaging to work right.

None of the BB's around me had any in stock so I price matched at CC...picked up 3 units and 2 will be given away as gifts for Christmas! Great deal!

got an open box at BB... with Transformers and Fear and loathing...
115 with 2yr service plan... ( I usually hate the service plans but this one was only $10... couldn't pass it up)

The box is missing the UPC though... no 5 free unless there is something else I can use from the box?

Wow! Just picked mine up, apparently the last one left in the Austin area. The only one they had was a floor model which was still on display, but was not hooked up. Because it was a floor model I got the player for another $10 off! Thats 1 HD-DVD player, two free movies in store (Transformers and Hot Fuzz) and another five movies via mail in for $97.00 after tax. Dang, I was on the fence but this deal was just too much. Thankfully, my wife gave me the go ahead just last night to get a hi-def player after seeing the commercial for Planet Earth! Now, just need to get online and find the best price for Planet Earth.

Got it hooked up now with Transformers playing and man does it look and sound SWEET!!

Just got home with mine from CC. They did a 110% price match to BB and honored two free discs of my choice.
He didn't check availability of in store at BB, which is good because they have none.

My parents just called from Best Buy and found the guy who had assured the CSR at my local store that they had one (and was holding it *for me*), and was told they never had any. (and basically admitted that he lied-- or he bought it for himself after seeing the price)

They're talking to the manager right now about getting the floor model.

This is frustrating, especially since they're not 100% into the whole HD news and may not know what's going on (and what to tell them about getting it)

Yes. The Galleria is in the heart of the city. I assure you, if we are sold out, they are too.

I will be at Walmart first thing.

I drove down to South Austin looking for the last one in the area according to one of the North Austin stores. (I tried to call, but no one answered the phone.) I got there. They said it was in the system, but they couldn't find it. Some employee probably hid it for a friend.

C'est la vie.

I'm not going to even bother calling Circuit City. WallyWorld tomorrow morning!

I think that when we get to Black Friday, no one will be buying the A2 for $99 because they will already be gone--everywhere! I suppose now the question is how low will the A3 be?

I'm interested in seeing what they'll blow out A20s for. Getting 1080p for under $200 would be nice.

Enjoy!

That would be great...but they don't seem to stock nearly as many A20's in the past as A2's so I'm not sure it will happen just yet.
But if and when it does, I'll be picking one of those up and selling my A2 for next to nothing to help someone else get in the game and help spread the word.

I called my local BB and they have none and said there was only 1 at one store in the entire region. My best bet at this point would be that its going to be a "bait and switch".

It was absolutely the very last one in the store (because I tried to get one for a co-worker- they looked around for 40 min. It seems they are missing six units from reported stock), but it was in a virgin box- never opened, in perfect condition... and I persuaded them to honor the instant two free HD DVD promo too even though I didn't order them at the same time I did the web order this afternoon. I just got the last one at my BB in Cerritos, CA. Box was opened so I got $10 off $89.99 plus the 2 free HD DVDs! They had to be under $34 so I couldn't get The Matrix Collection.

Sorry about that man.

You know, even if the Galleria did have some in stock I don't know if any high def player would be worth the hassle of traveling down from the Woodlands to the Galleria!

I have a A1 how much different is the A2. I was thinking about picking one up and putting my A1 in my bedroom. Is there any advantages that the A2 have over the A1? I have searched other threads but there doesn't seem to be any consensus.
