This is the deal (Amazon above) to beat... I saw the A3 for $169 elsewhere but with no DVD's. After a moment of excitment at the $169 tag, I remembered my higher math training...10 free DVD's + the A3 x $199 = a superior deal and to good to pass up......no more waiting............ordered!

All A3's no matter where they are bought include 300 and Bourne in the box and 5 more DVD's through mail in rebate from Toshiba. Amazon gives you 3 extra DVD's from a pre-selected list to choose from.

Just went back and checked......and you're right... 2 in the box and 5 via rebate... Amazon still looks the best however w/ 10 total.

Don't you just love Amazon's customer service? I bought the HD-A30 @ $311.++ just two days ago and then a day later Amazon dropped the price by $8.++.

I then requested that they credit the difference since I bought it so recently and guess what? They did!

So in case anyone miss the other posts you don't want to miss this deal! If you get lucky you will be able to get a blu-ray or hd-dvd player for cheap!

To bad they had to toss in that blu-ray player lol.

www.amazon.com top right you will see the box to vote on!

They have:

TOSHIBA A35 HD-DVD play for $149 OR Samsung Blu-ray BD-P1400 for $150

In order to get that price you must vote and there are only 500 of each. What a deal if anyone is looking!

I went by one of my local Sears stores and they still had the display model for the A2, none left in the box. When I asked how much it was, the salesman said $179-10%. Needless to say, I passed.

Don't know if this has been posted yrt - if so - I apologize:

Costco is having a sale - ends 11/25:

1. HD-D3 @ 179.99
2. ST-TOS @ 127.95

So for $308 you get:

1. The HD D3
2. ST-TOS
3. 7 free movies (2 in the box)
4. The Phaser Remote ($69.95 value)
5. A HDMI cable (I think - has always been in the Costco models)

wreckedchevy, I appreciate the effort to let us know about the good price. But if you had read any of the last 5 pages of this thread, you would have known that about HALF the discussion in those pages was about the Amazon direct purchase deal, the Amazon vote for a _chance_ for a better deal, or the cheaper price with fewer free disks from CostCo and Fry's.

I discovered last night after ordering my A3 from Amazon that I have a second account there under a different email address, so went back and voted for some of the winners Therefor there is a MINUTE chance that I will 'win' a 'chance' to buy an A35 for $150. If that should actually happen, I hope that Amazon's good customer service will allow me to cancel the A3 to keep the A35 at the lower price, as I believe it is also a better machine. I would even be willing to give back or pay for the three free disks that were part of the A3 deal. -> -> Hear that Amazon? If I try to waffle out on the three free titles, you can quote me from here!

Costco in San Leandro, CA has the A3 for $179 with HDMI Cable and 2 in the box discs. Sale ends today.

The Amazon deal pencils out to be slightly better, but this is good for the "can't wait crowd".

Plus remember Costco still allows unlimited returns on DVD players.

I just bought mine. I would have preferred the best buy deal with 3 of my choice and paid the tax, but they were out and this is a great deal as well. Merry Christmas to me!

Yup just saw that myself. I have been tossing the idea of getting one around for a few days. I made my decision and now they are gone. Guess I waited too long. Oh well maybe BB will run their "3 off the shelf" sale again soon.

People can argue all they want about the impact of Amazon, but they are seriously selling some HD DVD players!!!

Ok I finally found it again. If you do a search for Toshiba HD-A3 it will take you to the Tiger Direct one. But if you go to the A30 you can like to the A3 through the 10 free link.

Oh and the price dropped to $197.22 now.
