So this is pretty much the cheapest price, for an A3, right now huh?

Did anyone get one of the crazy deals on Amazon's Customer Vote? http://www.amazon.com/customersvote

I got "We're sorry. You weren't randomly selected to be offered this deal."

Bummer.

I too was not offered what I chose.

I chose the PS3, and I was surprised I wasn't even offered the runner up price of $319.

Not that it matters, I got mine from the Sony Style store, via their card special, for only $299.

I was offered but I would only buy a PS3 for the original $139...

Q: my A3 got bricked by the latest update - shouldn't I exchange it for the A30 in BB on Friday?

Yeah, but it's a refurb.

I'd be a little scared to buy a refurb, because lots of PDPs buzz. Mine did, until they replaced the innards. I'd be wary they didn't actually fix anything. That, and maybe they've got lots of dead pixels or something, and they're hoping to pass them off as refurbs to those who don't notice in time. Hard to tell.

Although they don't mention it on their site, the A3 at HHGregg will include the 300 and Bourne Identity (all G3 players have this), will be eligible for the 5 free movies from Toshiba, has free shipping and is tax free out of state. (Amazon charges tax to us WA residents...) So by my calculation it's a great deal.

I'm weak and could hold out no longer. Jumped on the HHGregg deal since I couldn't sleep and was up early anyway. I guess I had nothing better to do.

IN round one of the Amazon.com customer vote, I got the 40gb PS3 for 319.00...comes with Spidey3 and the five movie rebate (it was second place of the three, kind of a consolation prize not a the coulda-been price, but still, 319 is pretty sweet).

Santa just pulled the trigger at HHGREGG. $149.97 is too good to even bother getting up early and dealing with crowds tomorrow morning! The only downside is I will have to wait until Christmas morning to enjoy it!

Is anyone seeing ANY deals on the 1080p units? All I see is the A3 advertised. I have yet to decide on my front projector: 720p or 1080p, so I thought I'd be safe and buy a 1080 HD-DVD player. Something tells me that I won't be able to tell the difference between a A3 and A30, though. I read somewhere that the A30 support 1080/24 fps....again who knows if that's something my untrained eye would even notice.

Decisions...decisions.

So again, any A-30/35 deals/rumors people have been seeing/hearing???

Thanks,
Jason

I'm in the same boat Jason. Not much in the way of discounts for the A35 that I've seen. Still, I'm going to keep an eye out and stay patient. If a holiday sale comes up and it's good enough, I'll jump. Otherwise, I'm content to wait for the dual players after the first of the year and just enjoy my oppo.

Anyone have the Magnolia Hi-Fi flyer for tomorrow?? They typically carry/sale a little higher end stuff than Best-Buy. I also am holding some cash for the 1080P's.

All the deals seem to be for the A3. The retailers must not have as much wiggle room in the cost of the 1080p players.

Well, I just ordered from Amazon.com for the A3. Got the player, the 10 movies, free shipping for $202.55. I opened a Amazon Visa and get a $30.00 credit on my first statement so grand total is $172.55. Not to bad.

What do you guys think about the Toshiba laptop on Best Buy Black Friday sale?
Centrino Duo 1.6GHz, 2G RAM, 160GB HD, 17" screen, and HD DVD drive for $749.99 or

laptop + Antivirus Software + Sony headphones + 4 HD DVD (any excluding boxsets) for $849.99.

I think if one were to get the laptop, $100 extra for any HD DVD + additional fillers are a good deal. I just have to wonder if $749 is a decent price for this laptop. Anyone know if this model includes an HDMI out port?

Maybe I'm lost in the terminology, but I have a HDMI compatible tv (Sony KDS-55A3000). So is there something else in that thread that I missed that compares the A2 and A3?

The A3 isn't just the newest model is it?

A30 is now $279.98 with 10 free movies. Really should have trusted my instincts and waited for BF before ordering.... Will Amazon give me a refund of the difference again???
