My wife and I watched this last night and I have a question about the alternate ending. After watching the original theatrical release I attempted to view the alternate ending. The problem is that I can't seem to find a way to just view the ending without having to go through the entire movie.

The only way I came up with was to start the alternate version and FF to the end?

The HD DVD version includes only the "animated comics" available on both BD and SD, but is lacking the "featurette" and "documentary" included on the BD version. Here are detailed reviews of each format:

The alternate version includes about a minute of new material at the beginning of "Act 3" and about 3 minutes replaced at the end. So, to "get it all", you'll need to look at a bit more than the final chapter ....

Thanks everyone. I'll check out the alternate ending when I get home. I found it online somewhere, but no sense in watching it on a 17" monitor, when I can watch it in HD at 58".

Chapter 24 - 1:25:33 - Banding effect again on the walls when Neville is about to climb the staircase.

Also there is definitely some kind of DNR smearing on the faces from certain angles during motion especially on the shots where Neville and the dog are riding on the car.

I request interested members to please check and let me know if the reported artefacts are visible on their equipment.

No HD release is artifact free. Especially on fast action shots.

You have to remember that from now on. Please. Por pavor.

Don't believe me? Pop in any Blu-ray that you have. What do you see when they are in motion? Still need help?

You really need to get your viewing set calibrated. Set it at natural or Cinema setting at least or whatever closest to 65k. You can buy Spyder Calibration tool to help you get there if you can not get it ISF calibrated.

Note: The next sets of screenshots are taken in scenes where there is low light, out of focus and in fast motion. Or the worst place to get nice screenshots.

I know, I know but I gotta humor this guy

Anyone see "banding" ?

Xylon - on a different note, do you plan on doing a comparison between the HD DVD and BD "Mummy" films in the future?
