I'm trying to find a BLURAY/hddvd player that plays hddvds and bitstreams hd audio. I know pdvd dosnt play hddvds, tmt does but dosnt bitstream hd audio. I just got off the phone with corel and they said that windvd pro does play hddvds (wich I believe) and it bitstreams dts hd ma and dolby tru hd for hddvds.(wich I'm not too sure of). Do you guys know?

Also there are two other pc bluray players that aren't as well known. I forget the names of them, does anybody have an idea of the other two BLURAY players?

FWIW, Corel offers a "fully functional" 30-day trial for WinDVD Pro 2010. Reading your post and getting curious, I installed it and tried playing an HD DVD. I got the message "Media Not Supported".

WinDVD 9 Plus Blu-ray (that's the name of the product, not the same as WinDVD 9 Plus) DOES support HD DVD.

Wait, I'm kind of confused about what is what now. So the on I was talking about is windvd pro, that's the one you tried and it dosnt play hddvds? But then there is also "windvd 9plus" and "windvd9 plus bluray" and the later supports hddvds?

Do I have all that correct?
Do any support hddvd bitstream?

Yes, you have it correct.

I believe 'WinDVD 9 Plus' preceded but was available during the same time as the more expensive 'WinDVD9 Plus Blu-ray'. 'WinDVD Pro 2010" is the replacement for both of the '9's.

As far as bitsreaming with 'WinDVD 9 Plus Blu-ray', I'm not sure as I've never tried it.

So you are positive the new version dosnt play hddvds? Also is version "9" still available anywhere? If it is and you have it would you do me a huge favor and grab a hddvd that has hd audio(alot don't acually) and play it to see if it can bitstream? If not, no big deal. Thankyou very much.

It is a pity that HDDVD died months before any PC HD audio bitstream solution was put to the market so there is no software player that can playback the original disc with HD audio bitstream exist. Obviously no more development with HDDVD after its death which means no hope of seeing any player to add this feature.

Windvd 9 Plus Bluray can handle HDDVD but definitely no bitstream. Their current version does not support HDDVD anymore.

The best you can get from HDDVD is using TMT3 or 5 to output LPCM.

Other 2 players I also have are Nero Showtime (discontinued) and Roxio Cineplayer BD. Cineplayer won't even bitstream BD so it is the least popular player out there.
