Great.

Another group of titles I could give a **** about. :(

"I have never seen it, but by all accounts it is terrible. However, I have seen the house that it built, and it is terrific." - Michael Caine, on Jaws the Revenge

Caddyshack? Come on, gimme something a little better than that; it's not exactly one I give a damn about seeing in HD.

The Searchers is only 1.0 mono? I thought 5.1 was required for all releases?

I liked House of Wax, so that'll be a fun one.

Caddyshack was ok, but I much prefer Meatballs. That was released via HBO video on DVD, so hopefully we'll get that one sooner rather than later.

This one is a guilty pleasure for me...and I'm always happy to have more HD horror.

I'm not a fan of The Searchers as much as other classic westerns, but it seems to be a big title with a lot of people. Would it be the oldest film we've seen transferred to HD DVD thus far?

That's how Warner currently has it listed, but it could very well change. I'll check with them a little later today and try to extract more information.

Hey, if mono was the original track, that's the way it should be. Or at least include BOTH.

The HD-DVD player is required to be able to decode 5.1 Dolby Digital Plus among other codecs, but the discs are allowed to have whatever they want on them, including the original mono soundtrack.

I've never liked Caddyshack, but The Searchers is good news. Hopefully the mono track is in Dolby TrueHD. I'd also get House of Wax, if I didn't already have it on DVD.

I agree. In my opinion Lion's Gate screwed up by not including The Terminator's original mono track which was quite different than the 5.1 version. Anyone else really miss hearing those explosions echo in the tunnel?

I noticed that.
Since they are listed as being released today, how reliable is this info? Not that I'm overly interested in this batch.

Am I just missing the release date for these titles? I see where it shows the date announced, but not the release date. Or am I just blind? :)

The Searchers may be the most overrated film in film history.

At the top, where it says release July 27, 2006-I assumed it meant release date. perhaps it meant announcement date.

Nice. Caddyshack looked great on HDNet. I think The Searchers was on HDNet not long ago, too.
