Haha-agreed-the format has been discontinued-yes-and I own 100's of Blu-Rays, as well. But I still enjoy my HD DVD's and players, and there are still a few I am looking to add to my collection

That's a big truth.Too many HD-DVD titles exist.Sometimes I feel,my life is too short for collecting.

I have more than 70 HD DVD and I really enjoy to watching these titles.

The Pianist was a big surprise.

Have you ever seen/heard an HD disc with 2Mbits (!!!) DD+ sound ? Because this Japanese version contains an extra high bitrate DD + track. It was unusual.Almost every DD + sound we're 640k or 1536k if I remember correctly.

Maybe It was the black sheep.

I JUST began my HDDVD collection with the XBOX 360 HDDVD player being an early Christmas present. Everyone asks why I invested in a dead format. I say to them people enjoy collecting something that is still great quality. Well, I'd never get a laserdisc player but they are cool to look at. I figured why buy The Fast and the Furious on Blu-ray for 20 bucks when I can get it on HDDVD for 20 cents? So far I have the first Fast and the Furious, 2 Fast 2 Furious, TFTF: Tokyo Drift, Transformers, Superman Returns and Season 6 of Smallville that I picked up on Amazon for a total, including shipping, of $38. I have many more on my wish list I will be purchasing every pay period. I would take a pic of it, but we don't keep movie cases due to limited space in base housing, so we have them in zip up cases and recycled the cases.

Welcome aboard and you could not be more right on your thoughts regarding the format and buying the blu-ray when you can buy the HD-DVD version for pennies on the dollar. I own about 300 or so HD-DVD's and will NEVER double dip them with blu-rays. There's also movies on HD-DVD that's not out on blu-ray which is another reason to buy
HD-DVD's.

Thanks tbase1. I have already enjoyed most of the titles I purchased on HDDVD and look forward to finishing season 6 of Smallville and Tokyo Drift. My wife added a bunch of HDDVD movies to my wishlist on Amazon because even she likes the price. Yeah, there will be no double dipping, but obviously new titles will be purchased in blu-ray, the most 2 recent being Inception and Public Enemies, which I got Public Enemies used w/ a digital copy that I was still able to retrieve.

I've been out taking pictures of my collection. Seriously though, I need to find more time to get on the boards once in a while. How you been?

Thanks Very Much! As long as all the talented artists keep making the covers, I'll keep using the covers.

I've dabbled enough with them now that I at least know how to do an HD DVD conversion from a Blu-ray cover which is great when a cool cover comes out for a blu-ray movie that I own on HD DVD.
