(Facebook account required).

In a randomized sample of 1000 facebook users, 64% chose HD DVD over Bluray.

Each age group and gender chose HD DVD.

They don't allow duplicate names do they?

The one spelt exactly:

HD DVD is better than Blu-ray

2008: BD+ hacked... payback time for Warner, Fox and Disney!

Have also noticed that the 2:1 ratio is still in place, just that HD DVD is 2 and Blu-Ray is 1.

HD DVD: 88 | Blu-Ray: 77 (new: Full Metal Jacket, SW:tCW, Bonnie & Clyde (AU))
DVD: 43 (new: Life Season 1)

Internet polls mean nothing in the real world.

Take SNAKES ON A PLANE for example....

Blu-ray + HD DVD = Bliss.

Joined your group. I was already a member of 'HD DVD: The Future of Disc Media', that group has a decent few members, almost 200.

Surprised to see the results of the poll, considering Facebook is made up of a lot of the 'PlayStation demographic'.

HD DVD = 69
Blu-Ray = 14
HD VMD = Only in the bizarro world

Then i thought.. what i started calling them Red Rays just to annoy Blu supporters as a bit of fun

Yeah, I wouldn't put much weight into this poll. The age breakdown statistics are pretty interesting showing the majority of HD-DVD supporters are 13-17 years old. Not exactly a critical demographic in this market, imo.

Mitch

P.S. For the record, I have an HD-DVD player.

I definately agree this poll isn't scientific.

Actually, the majority of supporters were 18-24 (63% of 548), not the 13-17 bin (75% of 204). That is fairly interesting. For this is a poll, I would suspect a high PS3 proponent turnout, IMHO.

At least it's a randomized sample, thats better than the non-random polls which can easily be skewed by having a link posted in a Blu-Ray or HD DVD forum.

Oh, wait, mine is the H.D.S.B.H.C.S.A.C.F.A.W.W.T.A.W.A.B.F.G. group. Which stands for: "HD DVD is Superior to BR And Has Completed Specs, And Is Customer Friendly, And Will Win The War Against BDA FUD Group."

Once again proven: perception is everything. Lets hope HD DVD can ride the wave long enough to do some damage.

These facebook polls are awesome because they are randomized, and include young people. Most polls done by agencies are done over the phone, and most 20 somethings don't have phones (only cell phones). Sony has a great reputation with older folks (who remember the 80s), but people my age (20's) don't give Sony any special credit.

Young ppl barely know about Blu-ray
Yet alone HD DVD
LoL

My mom works for Sony, and she brought home a copy of "Starhawk BETA"
I quickly slipped it into my trusty PS3, and started playing.

P.S. For the record, I have an HD-DVD player.

I was always under the assumption the 13-17 year old demographic was the prime PS3 age group followed then by the 18-25 group.

If so.. what does that say.
