Hey all,

I saw a few posts on this but they were old.

What is currently the defacto standard best HD DVD calibration disc out now? Can I get it from Amazon?

I need it to help display such things as correct 1080i vs. 1080p deinterlacing, color, contrast etc.

I've got 2006 Samsung 61" 1080p DLP BTW and a Toshiba HD-A35 BTW.

I'm particularly interested in seeing the deiterlacing issues the A35 seems to have.

Thanks for the help.

"Digital Video Essentials" is available from Amazon, Fry's or Value Electronics. It's basically the same price at all 3.

Most people in the calibration forum prefer "Avia". However, they have yet to release a HD-DVD disk. There's also the "Silicon Optics Benchmark" DVD. However, most would likely concur that "DVE: HD-DVD" is the way to go.

Is that disc useful for rear projection units? Or is it only for plasmas?

If not, I have a 2009 Mitsubishi 65-837. Which calibration disc should I use for my rear projection TV?

Hello? Anyone still use this forum? I posted in this thread so I didn't have to start a new one.

Are you really looking for a calibration disc in the defunct HD-DVD format?

Wide Awake

on the Edge

of the World

There were only 2 that I know of- the first Digital Essentials which is a standard DVD combo, and another from the same people called Digital Basics or something like that.
