Figured we get so many special deals and discount offers, it might be easier for the HD-DVD shopper to find all of the deals in one place. This thread will be replacing the existing deals thread as Doc no longer has time to maintain that list. Please update your bookmarks etc accordingly.

I will update this post at least once per day. If you have additional items to be added to this list please PM me the info so I can add it to this post during my next update. If you do not email, don't expect the deal to make it to this post. I won't be hunting all of the posts trying to pick out the deals.

When submitting a deal, please include all important info such as Store, Online/Instore, price, item(s), expiration date, coupon code (if applicable). I will test all submissions. If I cannot checkout with the info provided I'll PM you back requesting more info.

Now, on with the deals.

Much thanks to munkyxtc for volunteering to keep the first post of this new special deals thread current.

PLEASE remember to PM him (or me) when you post a new deal so the first post can be updated quickly. It helps if you use the TITLE BAR in your post and the "DEAL" as the first word of your title. Remember to include all pertinent information, especially the valid dates of the deal. AND A LINK! Stick to a clear format and this thread will be much easier to read:

STORE
DEAL
DATES
LINK
ADD'L INFO

Also note: Amazon associate links are not permitted.

Much thanks

Doc

I don't understand why so many sites are having sales that are almost giving away blu ray stuff but the HD sales are no where near as good. Don't get me wrong I will still take the ones that are here but I've been seeing new blu releases for $15. We have lower prices on the players but movies are really getting much cheaper on blu lately. Just my 2 cents.

a quick word about the CC deal (and i suppose YMMV), but the manager at my local CC went and checked after I asked him if it was all HD-DVDs or just those listed...he came back and said it was all of them. They didn't ring up that way, but I told another manager up front what the manager had said and he approved it (for blu ray as well).

Another reason I think it may indeed be for all of them (and not just YMMV) is that it says "free disc must be of equal or lesser value" yet ALL of the hd-dvds listed are 29.99. Could be a coincidence and default legal wording...or not.

I just came back from both CC and BB up at the Easton stores in Columbus, Ohio. CC had a horible selection of disks so I took the add and went down the street to the BB. They had a huge selection and ended up giving me the B2G1 deal. I don't really like the disks I got so I hope to exchange them in a couple of weeks when new stuff is released.
Point is, some BB stores may still give you the deal.

Darn! Tried to cancel my Amazon StarTrek about 8:00pm EST and was too late -- Amazon say it's not due to ship until 11/25, and yet it can't be canceled! Could have used the price difference for something else !

CS cashier at my local CC gave me the B2G1 deal on HD DVDs even though the three I picked out didn't ring up that way, so for $59.98 I got:

Shrek The Third
Babel
The Good Shepherd

Couldn't find a couple others I wanted to package with Shrek instead, but it turned out okay anyway.

Well done.

Hoping for more news this Friday!

"I wonder if any of the releases had slipcovers though."
"Are these comfirmed to have slipcovers?"
"They look nice in those slips."
"This slipcover looks too good to pass up."

Point is, some BB stores may still give you the deal.

Your lucky ! I too went to BB Manassas,VA store and told they had to call CC to verify items in their stockroom.
Thereafter, cashier called MOD (manager on duty) and advised:

1) cannot price match items from another local CC (same county nearer to my home better stock) but not the CC next block over (weak stock).

2) BB does not at all honor any Buy2Get1. Even though it's known both companies on occasion reciprocate the ad sales, i.e., BOGO, B2G1free, etc.

Told them they lost a sale and proceeded to CC and was able to get promotion and save even more cash (cashier took off $10 off each).

I know that this thread is for software (mostly), but I don't see the 10 free HD DVDs with the purchase of an A3 listed. Was this an intentional omission, or just missed?

Intentional, I guess. This is more for those who already have players and are looking for special deals on movies, alone. Though if someone offered 100 free movies with the purchase of a CAR, yeah, that'd go here, too.

However, should a new similar deal or a store-specific deal come along, there's no harm in posting it. Munkyxtc's call, naturally.

The Wal-Mart $14.82 pricing must be a regional thing if the pricing is still current. I picked up a copy of Unforgiven yesterday (11/20) for a X-mas gift at a store in the Twin Cities and it rang up at $19 and change.

On the Circuit City web page there are 2 sales papers to look through: one for black friday, and one that ends today. For the one that ends today, it says, "HD-DVD buy 2 get 1 free of equal or lesser value thru Nov 21." I printed this out and am about to run to CC to pick out a couple of movies. This page does not say it is limited to a certain selection of HD-DVD's. It was on page 6 for me. Locations may vary.

That's what I have been saying. By having cheap player won't help much. It is the software that will help the format sale. And honestly, HD-DVD cost are a bit too much for me. HD-DVD really need to start doing the BR strategy. I'm still waiting for the darn "Tokyo Drift" and "Children of Men" price to go down. $28 is ridiculous, plus no TrueHD sound? I'll wait till when is $18. =D

Currently, I have 4x of BR over HD-DVD. Why? cause of the cost. I've even take risk on movie that I have not seen yet on BR. Not on HD-DVD, no risk taking for me. =(

I'm willing to bet that most of the people who bought the $98 A2 from Walmart are not using their players very much. Once they see the HD DVD prices, $15-20 for catalog titles that go for $5 on DVD, or $25-35 for new releases, they're just gonna go home and watch cable or surf the web.

Well they sold a bunch of players but I don't think they will see a spike in software sales. That is what the studios want to see isn't it??? More software sales!!!

I removed the wal-mart deal. The pricing was good only @ B&M locations so there is no link. I was there and confirmed on 11/17, it must have expired since. Sorry for the confusion.

I've added the player. My intent is to keep this thread focused on media only sales; however, there are times where the deals are just too good not to mention. Feel free to PM me the info, there is no harm in mentioning it.

I got Shrek, Transformers and Blades of Glory at CC also for $60. They also had trouble ringing them up and they had to manually mark down one to free. At first they were also questioning whether it was only the titles in the ad.

Did anyone have any luck using the $5 coupons in the Sunday paper (Chicago Tribune for me) for Shrek3 HD, Transformers HD. They also had $3 coupons for the regular dvds. I tried 2 different CCs and both said I couldn't use a coupon with a promotional offer. I kept complaining that a manufacturer's coupon shouldn't affect their sale; I could see if I tried to use a CC coupon for 10% off with the sale.

I also tried deepdiscount.com; they have a B&M store by me. The store has the same 20% off all dvds like their web site and they also wouldn't let me use the coupon on top of their sale price. The guy basically said one or the other: $5 coupon or 20% off, which for Shrek was like $.50 difference so I kept the B2G1 from CC.

Here is one from Best Buy, 10 free movies with the purchase of a Toshiba. I can't get it to work online, but took it into the store yesterday and the associate was willing to give it to me. The $199A3 was on backorder, and they wanted $499 for the A35. If you're willing to print this and try it at the store, they'll probably give it to you. I can't get it to work online.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....at135100050035

Below is the same deal from Amazon, but you don't get to select Any 3 movies like Best Buy, you have to pick from their limited selection.

(Tried to link it, but it didn't work. It's on the very top of the Amazon HD DVD page)
