In the old dos-days, everyone knew what chkdsk did and meant. chkdsk is still hidden somewhere under the cloak of Windows.
The linux equivalent is fsck.
sda2 is just the second partition of the hard disk.

Can't we have this information in a neat separate place? So many people like to do something with their Olives, without knowing how. Several people here have assisted in writing instructions, but all these instructions and would-be-manuals are hidden in this thread, shattered over the pages.

I agree with Marc. In particular I have answered the question re: moving FLAC files over from the Olive several times (btw. Olive had a very detailed instructions on this, which I copied and posted as well. For the original poster, try searching for this either here or on the Olives Zendesk site.

Moderators: is there a way to create a sticky thread for these types of posts?
