You add this to your hosts file and you're done.

When I am at my pc I will recite the complete file.

Marc
So where do you put this host file? I just found out that my internet radio isn't working.

The Lydo site has it all documented.

Take a look here: http://www.lydo.nl/olive/ssh-to-olive/
That will get you inside the Olive. There you have to edit the rcS file as noted in http://www.lydo.nl/olive/internet-down/

Hi Marc, can i do this your way by a live Linux CD or does it have to be installed. I can then download the SSH. As there doesn't seem to be anyone who can help me with the Windows version.

Also Olive out of business?

With a live Linux version it will be possible, but I would not recommend you to go this bumpy way.
If Winscp is too difficult, you could try an alternative. Look here for instance:

http://www.htpcbeginner.com/best-ssh...-alternatives/

With the ip-address of your Olive, the username and password, one of these alternatives must be viable.

Good luck
Marc

Maybe this will also help you with Winscp: http://www.lydo.nl/olive/improved-li...rs-conductors/

Back after a while, the last link Marc provided shows the settings for winscp.

Note that the olive 2 melody is write protected, so this fix cannot be applied to the melody.

Best regards,

Gertjan

New to this forum so apologies if this appears in the wrong place. I am an Olive 06HD owner and have been trying to edit data on my server using the Maestro online tool. This week it does not seem to want to connect at all despite the url and IP address being correct and the 06HD live on my network. Has Maestro gone down permanently? This would be a disaster as quite a few albums still load as "unknown" and require tidying up on the HD before they can be of use.

Maestro runs on the olive so it should not be down by itself.
After making sure for the third time that url and portnumber and ip address are still ok, you can try a restart of the unit.

If that does not work, please try if the import folder is still available.
Did I mention to check url, ip address and portnumber? :-)

Best regards,

Gertjan

It's also possible that something with the system partition on the hard disk is wrong. Than it is fsck time, or worse, recovery time.
But as GJ suggested, first check all the network values. Has your Olive still all the right ip address, gateway and netfilter values?.

can you connect to the olive at all?
on a mac you can try connecting to a server (Finder-->Go-->Connect to server), then input the IP address the Olive 06 gives.

When I still had the 06HD I used this method exclusively to upload albums edited separately using dBPoweramp, JRiver or similar.

hello all, I'm looking for the recovery software for the melody 2, it does not work once more, I already searched all over the internet but I can not find anything, I have also contacted olive but unresponsive to my mail.

if anyone has the recovery software for the melody 2 or a working link to a download I would find totally cool.

or I can throw him in the garbage?

Greetings gizmo binky.

Greetings gizmo binky.
I will check if I still have the files. It can take some days, so please be patient.
I hope that the update files are also available, since the recovery files are probably for a lower version...

Did you ask Olive? And did they response?

Best regards,

Gertjan

The recovery files for the Olive2 can be downloaded from
www.apps.lydo.nl\Olive2\Recovery.zip

Note that this url is case sensitive.

Unzip the file and copy the two files to a small USB stick. Preferably an old one, less than 1GB. I remember that larger USB sticks gave problems or were not recognised.

Good luck,

Gertjan

Now that you mention it, a bit strange, maybe the announcement in the meantime been modified once.
nevertheless strange that the site should go online in mid-August, it is now November already.
