Hope this is the right forum.

When I play my satellite, dvd player through my marantz receiver, everything works fine. But when I conected a cd player suddenly my subwoofer does not work with the cd player but everything else works with it. I only have the 1 subwoofer cabvle conected to the receiver, do I need to connect anything else and where?

How is the CD connected? and which Marantz? Sounds like you need to check the settings on your Marantz. If it is like my Denon, it sounds like you have something turned off in the Marantz that should be on.

The CD player, no matter how it's connected, does not have a dedicated subwoofer channel. The DVD and satellite box do.

You need to choose a mode in the Marantz that will send a signal to the sub. Your speakers need to be set to small, and the sub set to on. Anything like "pure direct" or "straight" may turn off all processing, including bass management, so you will get nothing from the sub.
