went ahead & bought this player from A4L $400 & looks sounds awesome. Love the styling, display is electric blue, is a hefty piece of equip, remote is weighted & balanced. Cds do sound with more definition than the onkyo c-7030 this replaced!! Highly recommended!

Somebody told me it was frightening how much topsoil we are losing each year, but I told that story around the campfire and nobody got scared.

This cdp died yesterday. Always left it on standby & when I turned it on & loaded a disc, front panel displayed "no disc!" Left the unit unplugged overnite & still no joy. What a bummer, really liked this cdp. Really sounded great, much better than the Marantz I'd been using & long since sold the Onkyo cdp. Wonder how much it will cost for repair with Teac? Sent them an email describing the prob but haven't heard back yet. Repair Center is in Calif. Prob the main board or whatnot? eek.gif Might be cheaper or not to just buy another cdp. Found a deal on a slightly used Onkyo C-S5VL. Might just do that...

Went ahead & contacted Teac & sent the cdp in for repair, cost $38 shipping then $154 to replace the servo mechanism & another $33 for return shipping. All in all, am happy with the costs considering it's a really good cdp. Comes with another 1 yr warranty so maybe it'll last longer this time!
