I actually don't have a dedicated CD player right now as I usually use my games consoles as a CD player. Mostly my PS3 Slim.

Do any of you guys have any experience in which console had the best CD audio quality? I believe that the PS1 was highly regarded as a CD player?

With the ability to upsample to 176.4, I believe the PS3 to be best of the consoles. The 360 converts everything to Dolby Digital, so I can't recommend it.
A modded original Xbox with XBMC installed would be my second choice followed by the PS2. The Dreamcast was dreadful.
The PS1 stuff ended up being bunk when the thing was actually bench-tested; I still have the "desirable" model in question and it sounds bad with RBCD.

Yes the PS3 does have more audio options for music than the other consoles, didn't know Xbox 360 converted to DD. I guess I'll use the PS3 for now till I get a proper CD player. Thanks..

If anyone wants to add anything, feel free.
