Question Easy USB option for Pioneer VSX-D307

Hello all, I am hoping for a somewhat feasible option to use my USB with a minimal interface to adapt to RCA to plug into the back of the Pioneer. I can presently plug the USB into the Sony flatscreen, but the speakers are quite underwhelming. I have Advent bookshelfs hooked to the receiver and they are plenty loud for regular single CD playing.

Sadly the TV is the newest piece in a previously non-hdmi set up. So, does there exist a device that can read my USB like my
Kenwood car stereo can WITH a minimal interface?

FYI - the TV is a Sony KDL-42EX440, which has an optical out but, the Pioneer does not.

OR....is resistance futile and all will be assimilated via a new HDMI & USB receiver?

Thanks in advance....

Do you have RCA jacks, red/white on the back of the tv? If so run the USB to the tv and a pair of RCA cables from the back of the tv to the receiver. Probably have to screw around with the setup menu on the tv but it should work.
