Advice - DAC / CD transport combo

Hi everyone,

I recently bought an old Yamaha CA-810. It is in goood working order, but I am having cleaned and serviced to make sure it is A1. I also bought used (but mint) Wharfedale Diamond 8.4 (made in England).

I am now looking for a CD transport and a DAC. That's where you guys come into play. :-)

I found a (used) Cambridge Audio DiskMagic CD Transport. I was thinking about a (new) Cambridge Audio DACMagic Plus to pair with it. What do you guys think of the combination? Since the total amounts to roughly $860, what would you recommand for that amount of money?

Oh... Separates (transport and DAC) is kind of mandatory since I would also like to use my computer as a source for streaming from iTunes/Google Play Music.

Thanks in advance for your advice,

Eric

Why would it not make better sense to rip the CD's to the computer for playback. Or, use the optical drive in the computer for direct playback of CD's? Why on earth would you need a CD player?
