Realized today that format changes on HD sub-channels are even easier to pull than on regular radio (mostly because so relatively few are listening and there are no advertisers to worry about, I would guess). This morning I was listening to the Charlie sub-channel "Funkytown". Turned it on a couple of hours later and now it's "Christmas FM".
HO - HO - HO
Presumably "Funkytown" will return in January - or not. Maybe it will be the long-awaited "Metal Mania" station.

KING-FM in Seattle does that; their HD-2 "Evergreen Channel" of classical muzak seasonally changes to Christmas-themed music programming for the month of December. I've no doubt other stations do similarly.
