Realized today that format changes on HD sub-channels are even easier to pull than on regular radio (mostly because so relatively few are listening and there are no advertisers to worry about, I would guess). This morning I was listening to the Charlie sub-channel "Funkytown". Turned it on a couple of hours later and now it's "Christmas FM".

HO - HO - HO

Presumably "Funkytown" will return in January - or not. Maybe it will be the long-awaited "Metal Mania" station.

Anyone else noticed format changes?

KING-FM in Seattle does that; their HD-2 "Evergreen Channel" of classical muzak seasonally changes to Christmas-themed music programming for the month of December. I've no doubt other stations do similarly.

Our local stations are bragging over which one starts playing Christmas music first every year. Next year I think they'll switch right before Halloween.
