Check out the rest of that forum, if you've disagreed with Thy you'll probably be able to find a colourful take on why he's right and your wrong.

It was all LSD but if I really had to pick out just one favourite from that thread this would be it:

Drop a couch in, a glass or two of red wine and Viola! Room treated

And finally

holy mother of god someone sure has a lot of time on their hands.... obsess much? ouch

Penn....sorry to see the gunshots fired in your thread but I hope all is good for you to start building now?

been building all along....drivers have been purchased for a month, all equipment too.

My boxes are also built, I just need to put the drivers in and start testing them with DCX2496

I actually decided to wait until the weekend and Im just trying different stains right now with my boxes.

Thy's favorite forum where he and Anarchy are admins/mods

I realized that too about Anarchy, I also posted in another thread suggesting there is a connection between them.

Anarchy are you not the infamous Peter Euro? I certainly thought that you were too. Certainly very similar posting styles.

I post over at that forum ocasionally. It is basically an all out bash fest over there, but some of it I find funny, or interesting and some of it is true.

much obliged and definitively flattered (after educating myself on the subject) but no cigar... I am not Thy either. Why not just start a separate thread about it? A build thread I guess, how to build suspicions and paranoia?

Hmmm...Maybe I will. I'll get some pointers from the head of the CIA's counterintelligence division first

Did Shinobiwan have his posts deleted??? his posts are usually super informative but i guess he wanted his argument with Thy gone since he didnt want to derail the thread further. I wish i could see some of the stuff he posted earlier in the thread though. Hes a really well spoken guy and knows his stuff.

Speaking of Thy i seriously think the guys mentally unstable, the way he acts on message boards reminds me of that brainstorm guy (i think thats what his name was) that was also a nut case.

its unsettling to read his endless hall of shame thread which obssesses over shinobiwan. How anyone can write that many mindless words on someone and expect to be seen as mentally stable is laughable.

You should really do your research on this thing known as the "internet". There is a lot more to it that what you see. A good number of the people who frequent this forum more likely than not, do not know about the less serious "parts" of the internet.

What you see there is incredibly tame in comparison to some of the more "pronounced" groups.

You can either learn to take everything on the internet with a grain of salt or continue to think it's all "serious business".

Hi gotachforce, a couple of days after posting them I removed all my posts from this thread for pretty much the same reasons you outlined. It was needless thread spoiling so had to go.

As for Thy and his friends. Towards the end of my short time on his own forum arguing my POV I started to get emails containing disturbing and illegal images. The mails I got came from an anonymous free mail account so I can't prove who it were. However I've been online for years and never had any such occurrence in the past and the timing did coincide with the games these people were playing. I reported the disgusting mails to the Police here in the UK.

my dead thread is alive

Shino, they did that to you....sigh!!

I only followed it for a short time, really boring stuff in the end from Peter, etc.

Other then Thy being a big ass to lots of people I have to be honest and say that his opinion on my project helped me build something that Im still extremely happy with. He had lots of PMs with me and the way he was able to keep it simple for me was awesome.

I never want to be a speaker building expert because I believe that a person can follow instructions and get a great product. Im not selling anything either so everything I build is for my enjoyment.

Thy was right in the fact that we can build speakers the first time out and be EXTREMELY impressed (I have had lots of comercial speaker experience so Im not impressed easily). He was right that people sometimes need to jump in and just do it instead of worry about the science taking years to learn. His suggestion of going with an active crossover design was the biggest factor in my sucess.

I can not describe how easy an active crossover design allows a noob like me to create a sound system that I have a hard time matching comercially. When other fear how hard speaker building is, I just get a warm tingly feeling and a little chuckle

Yes Thy goes off on a tangent with people and its sad that he wants to be such an "underground rebel/angry old man" type of guy but my success is because of his help and I thank him for that.

I can't prove anything but I strongly believe it was someone over there who sent the child porn and mutilation images. Outside of that small group, I have no enemies and certainly none that would stoop so low. Very sick stuff and all because of something as comparatively meaningless as audio. I passed on all the information I could to the authorities so its in their hands now.

I've no interest in what someone like that has to say so avoid anything to do with them now.

Thy has contributed in more ways than one over the years.

To see him get booted because of this is preposterous.

This is an open forum, an arena for discussion and sharing. What specifically merits his ban from this thread?

Wow. That's farged up. I'm a member and I post occasionally over at that forum and I read all of the exchanges when that whole deal was going on. I've never had a problem with Thy personally and we've had quite a few pm conversations, but he is an aggressive and prickly sum bitch at times. I would hope that he wasn't involved with whatever "materials" were sent to you.

I have zero evidence it was Thy or any of his mates so it would be wrong to point the finger in certainty. What I do have is the coincidence that it happened during my attendance on their forum, their obvious dislike of me or anything I've done and the fact the mails stopped once I told them I was reporting the disgusting mails to the authorities. The folks over there also have a fascination with weird pictures used to illustrate and make light of situations and I've seen Thy use similar mutilation(chopped up animals or people) type images to the ones I received in the mails mixed with the kiddy porn.

Whoever sent them is dumb because the authorities over here take this thing very seriously and are positive they will find where these images came from. So a cheap laugh will probably end in misery hopefully.

Some personal stuff started happened and I actually just stopped using the thread. It was great for awhile with lots of helpful info. Although Thy removes ALL his posts after awhile That is something I disagree with but that is what he does, he thinks people steal his ideas all the time....he is sort of conspiracy guy from some of our conversations but who knows.

He still reads the forum, still posts and he is still reading this (I suspect).

I did create a new thread about with pics and discussion of my actual build....Currently Im enjoying my two mains and Im about to work on my Center Channel design. Along with two new boxes for my other room. All my new drivers are arriving very soon, just waiting on another DCX2496.

Penngray: Your speakers look awesome, now you should enjoy the fruit of your labours. I'm doing a very similar setup for LCR when the new house is done. Since I've never played around with active xo before it's reassuring to read your experience with the dcx.

Thank you, my in-wall designs worked out really well...better then I thought.

I have the other box speakers coming along slowly...the bass bin was already created I just need a baffle for the MT.

I have to comment though on the active xo, my experience has been awesome. I simply can not believe how easy it is to tweak my sound to my liking and I can actually set different sounds for different audio choices. Ie....hard rocking mid bump setup for rock n' roll and bass setup for techno dance stuff (DONT ASK!! ) and then a crisp and clear sound for movies....gun fights have never been better for me!

To be honest though, this is all just for me and Im definitely not an expert in it, I can not say others would like how I have my sound. I do know my friends and family enjoy whatever Im doing so far so its all good in my world.

These are kind of cool, is there a build thread for them? I have no idea what the pros and cons of an open baffle design would be...

Yay! A Signature!
