My humble system:
No REW just yet, as I didn't have a laptop for the longest time. With a Rat Shack Meter, I'm flat to 15 hz in my room with a BFD and some aggressive filters(+5 to+10db) below 30 hz, but hey- that's why I modeled in WinISD. With 2000 watts- the drivers just neared 30mm excursion (IIRC- i spent six months trialing different drivers and boxes prior to the woofers going on sale and becoming my final choice).
So is it an LT? No, not strictly speaking.
It is small and sealed which meets my design goals. It is reasonably flat in room with BFD tuning (+/-) 3-4 db from 100 hz to 15Hz.
the total system sounds phenomenal!!!!!
I feel that I've gotten a great deal, and that to get much better performance (think Quad LMS or theEar's setup
- I'd have to spend SIGNIFICANTLY more money. My original benchmark was the JL F113- If i could get similar performance for less than a total of 12,000 (4 JLs) I'd be happy.
Simply stated, I am happy. The bass is great, low, loud, controlled and in reference to another thread here, with the right amount of volume, I do get a kick you in the chest feeling!
Total outlay including some tool purchases and some unnecessary bits and pieces here and there was around 3.5K. Not cheap, but it was never designed to be a budget setup.
