Wow... I wasn't expecting it to be that inexpensive at launch. Cool! How reputable is that store though?

Sorry, it may be a good place but I have just never heard of it.

I am about to buy another 2500 so I am pretty curious.

I have never purchased from them, so as of reliability I am clueless. I did some hunting and found another one that is a TRUE authorized dealer so their shouldn't be any worries about purchasing.

This one is an amazing 5 cent cheaper.

With amps like this at that price, i'm surprised we dont see more passive subwoofers (non diy) for the home....

Theres a wack load of reasons.
here's a few.

You make more money when you sell a amp with the sub.
J6P will not know what to buy to power his sub.
J6P will not know how to hook up a P.A. amp.
Fan noise.
space.
Know one makes a passivive or active sub that can use 4k watts.

Help me out here. 120 volts X 20 amps = 2400 watts. How do they get more? Is this only a 220 volt unit?

Lot's of low rent stuff stacked up into a medium rent pile.

Velodyne has a contractor series of subs that are passive.

SC-8, SC-10, SC-12, etc.....

I have 4 SC-8s and velodyne sells a 1200Watt amp to drive two of them so thats 2400 just for the SC-8s.

who knows, I have had 2 EP2400s on one 20 amp circuit driving 4 18" subs to insane levels....no issues at all so I would have no problems with one EP4000 on a 2 amp circuit.

It'd be swell if Chuck could acquire one of these for testing. Then we'd see what it could do under the best conditions possible.

I ran 2 EP2500's on a 10A breaker. After about 20 seconds of moderate clipping the breaker would trip.

I just spent $400 fixing my crown K2, and I could have gotten a new and more powerful ep4000 for less!!

Which is exactly why I'll have to be running 2 dedicated 20 amp circiuts for the sub shootout... when is that again...? ugh... I'm running out of time here..... I better get started on building that XXX box.... Oi vey..

MMMMM 4000 watts. I want. Still running my sub off a 5.1 receiver as the amp. This would beef up my sound nicely.

How do we know this isnt a rebadged EP2500? Plus how many amps live up to their rating?

Same here. A pair of these would go perfect with quad sealed RLp18's. I would save my current 2500 for a midbass setup.
