You too may have your very own THT for 10 easy payments of $39.95. But wait if you act by 2/28/10 well knock it down to 9 easy payments of $39.95. Amps on sale $40 off till then lol.

The THT plan may seem intimidating at first, but if one follows the plans (and if you have a few basic power tools), even the novice DIYer can probably do a pretty capable job. BFM's THT design seems pretty forgiving with regards to finish & joinery.

Thankyou... Yes it is huge but its worth sacrificing size for the performance you get. Im trying to figure out something to do about the sony's at the moment. Its a tough decision though since i dont want any commercial offerings. Although they do not disappoint at all. You would honestly be surprised at the sound they put out. I really dont need to get rid of them they do fine i just want something new.

Check out Klipsch man I've been a huge fan ever since I got into them a few years ago. While some say they may not be the most accurate speaker I haven't heard any that speaker that sounds as transient and dynamic them (own RF-5s). Upper frequencies sound very crisp and the horn really helps spread them throughout the room. Bass extension is also very good, never needed a sub for music. They are generally very very efficient and come to life with very few clean watts. If you're looking for a good cheap speaker the KG series is definitely something worth looking into (you don't get the beautiful copper though ) Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

Thats awesome i plan on taking some measurements this weekend my self. So far hows it looking? Are you going to take measurements nearfield or from your listening position? And max spl or at your regular listening volumes?

One thing that both of you and really anyone with an identical sub should do is both of you take a measurement right at the mouth of the horn to see if you have identical response graphs. If the subs are built correctly then you should have very similar graphs. When I have messed with REW I try to take a measurement right at the horns mouth then one at the primary seating location. The seating location is more important for your hearing the subwoofer than the measurement right at the mouth. The mouth measurement is more for reference.

I plan on doing a ton of measurements if i could ever figure this program out. Im still in the reading stages. Ill do max spl and normal listening volume, from the LP, from nearfield at the horns mouth, and with the sub in different placements. Have you posted any graphs of your DTS-10?

Yes I have posted some. They were at a previous location and I haven't run it since then. I am just using a spl meter for a microphone so the extreme low end isn't picking up that well. The graph that I run is probably 50 pages back in the thread. I will try and find it and post it. Its not that great of a graph and I am not sure if its my room or mic or what. Probably my room. Its a large room and no acoustic treatments.

As long as you loaded the proper cal file for your meter, from what ive read it should get it fairly accurate within +/- a few DB. Cool ive been looking through that thread but its so monstorous and easy to miss something. Im in the same boat as you with the room. I dont expect as great number as others with mine since im in a 6900+ cuft room open to upstairs. I just want to confirm what levels i am getting that are making me love this sub so much.

Hey mike,

Have you come to a firm decision regarding what your next project will be, between another THT or the SLA's?

Have you noticed that Moon Bloodgood, the chick who played "Blair Williams" on "Terminator Salvation", plays "Det. Maya Sunee" on Street Fighter? For some reason I find that to be kinda' funny. But she can be in any movie she wants as far as I'm concerned, 'cause I certainly don't mind lookin' at er'.

Your pic or link doesnt work. But i know what you saying shes the only reason why i didnt just close my eyes and listen. Chris Klein should honestly be ashamed of himself for taking on that role. I dont think it was him just the character they tried to make him portray. Anything for a paycheck.....
