There's something about looking @ pics of this build reminds me of a line from Kung Fu Panda and no, its not "Skadoosh!"

It's: He was so awesome that his enemies would go blind from sheer awesomeness!

You sir, have stepped up the DIY game bigtime. I dont know if I have even seen a commercial sub look this sweet!

Excellent Job!

I would love it for other audio lovers to come see and hear this sub. My friends and family appreciate the work that has gone into it and think its really nice, but as far as the subwoofer/audiophile thing they just don't get it. I work with one guy who's into audio/video but he's probably the only one who understands what this build is all about.

BTW I forgot to mention the granite weighs 85lbs so the finished product will be 200lbs.

My wife says she would like me to build a second one so we can use them as end tables. I'll have to do the vibration test and see if that's feasible.

Can't wait for initial listening impressions. I'd love to add this driver, in some application, into my modest rig.

I have 2 of these Mael-X 21"s in 10Cuft Cabs, I can tell you These Subs are BadAss
& provide huge output if partnered with the right power amp (min 2000W)..

Sad thing is that this is apparently being done with garage tools. I have access to CNC tools and still can't match this kind of cosmetic quality!

There's only one and I've got her.

Anyway, I got the driver mounted. Here's a quick look at the finished product (sans face plate). It currently resides in the middle of my living room, so I will reserve a listening review until its moved to a more suitable location. I'll also be able to take some better pics during the day when there is some light in the house.

Your Sub looks Awesome Corock cant wait to see more pics inc speaker Grill on...
It makes all that damn hard work (that most could'nt begin to comprehend) well worth while..

Have you considered naming your sub & getting A little Badge/emblem made up to fit on the bottom of the Speaker Grill cloth as A nice finishing touch

I have my Branding/render design done but waiting on my guy to create a master engraved block and from this do a plastic or metal mold to cast plastic or metal badges..

Cheers...

Absolutely gorgeous, buddy! Almost better than sex. Almost...

If I ever find a girl who says that about my projects, I would marry the girl on the spot.

I'm actually thinking about getting a 22" sub when fi releases them to replace my two 18's I have now, but they get the job done for now....

Even without the faceplate it is already the best looking sub I have ever seen. Tremendous work, the free sub definitely went to the right person.
Kevin at Exodus should have your sub prominently displayed on his home page, give the M-21 a sales boost.

Simply beautiful! If that was my Sub, I'd have to put it "front and center"
and hide my mains behind the couch or in a corner though!

first listening impression.........................HOLY LORD HOLD MY HOUSE TOGETHER!

This thing effortlessly bests my dual PB13-Ultras.
When I first hooked it up in the middle of my livingroom I was extremely let down with how it performed and was concerned I made a mistake going with a small sealed cabinet. Crisis averted when I realized my BFD was set to -10dBV for the SVS subs. Rewired as such...Denon 4308ci - Samson S-convert - Behringer BFD 1124p set at +4dBu - EP4000 with dip switches RRRLLRRRRL channel 1 gain half way channel 2 at 0. Performance no longer an issue, this thing put outs everything I ask of it without breaking a sweat, and I'm a bass head. I have a perma grin, you have no idea how happy I am with the results. I'll take some measurements when I've got the house to myself.

I'm extremely happy with how it turned out. Of course when you're planning something it looks perfect in your mind, but executing it can produce lesser results. There is no doubt all the advice I got here and HTS directly contributed to the final finish, which is amazing. Now that I've been the guinea pig, I believe anyone could duplicate this build. It really is about patience than skill. However, I'm not sure a lot of people would want to commit that amount of time.

It weighs 200lbs.

Absolutely beautiful! Great work, sir. Your work looks much better than that SVS. Have you thought out the grill yet?

Yes, I've done a couple early models already. I've changed it a little though and will have to do a new one and then it needs to be shipped to Edmonton for finishing. The complete face plate will take a little while because it has to be very precise. The added complication of having two people work on it in seperate locations increases the risk of it not turning out up to par.
