Brian - How do you like the Pacificos? I am trying to decide what will replace my Berkline order that is not being fulfilled. I saw these...are they firm or plush? Are they squeeky when you move on them? I've seen some say the head support is lacking when reclined. Any experiences and overall thoughts on them?
If you have a Magnolia Best Buy in your area these are the same as the Paliser Magnolias just without the extra money for best buy marketing. Try them out in the store. I think they are super comfortable but they probably are much more broken in at BB than they will be when you get them home.
I didn't see anything in your thread about tuning - (unless I missed it) Are you EQ'ing the subs with anything? Also wondering if you are still enjoying your speakers with the IB. Just wondering because my main setup is similar to yours and I'm wondering how well it integrates with the IB.
Old thread warning but this thread deserves a bump. Was just re-visiting your thread. I'm glad you like the speakers. My speakers are PBN Montana EPS and also use the scanspeak drivers - same revelator tweeter as yours but with 4 inch scanspeak mids and 10 inch Scanspeak midbass drivers.
It seems like the high efficiency Pro stuff is becoming popular in home theaters and I have thought about trying some. I do not have a lot of experience with the pro stuff but I've listened to some high efficiency stuff in the past and with the exception of a few really efficient speakers driven by single ended triode amps, I haven't been too crazy about them.
These Montana's are the most efficient speakers I have liked. In fact most of the speakers I've really enjoyed were fairly inefficient designs. My Montana's are 92db efficient (Stereophile measured them at 92.5), and should be capable of around 116db (per speaker). They can go incredibly loud without strain and should be plenty loud.
I suspect I am going to be more than happy with my setup with the Montana's but it is comforting to hear from someone with a huge over the top sub using conventional speakers.
