That's an interesting thought in parenthesis. Is that setting with no port blocking? If there's a chance to see the native response graph, I wouldn't mind seeing that one.

Bosso

Hey, how about simply reading the owners manual? After all, this is the DIY section.

Within 2 minutes could you get the answer to all sorts of combination of settings of port plugs, EQ and Q!

You're right bosso, I overlooked Craig's post on page one of this thread. Here it is again, for reference:

Here are the standards for each distortion component:

2nd Harmonic: 31.6%
3rd Harmonic: 17.8%
4th harmonic: 10%
5th harmonic: 10%
6th-8th harmonics: 3.16% each
9th and above: 1% each

Doing the math for THD is simple enough from here.

Tone burst length is as follows:

20 Hz: .325 second
25 Hz: .260 second
31.5 Hz: .206 second
40 Hz: .163 second

It's interesting that you've chosen to construe that post as Craig "whining." I consider myself to be a relatively reasonable person with at least average reading comprehension, and to me that looks like... a listing of the CEA standards. But hey, don't let me put logic in the way of a good story.

It is fun to watch (or read, as may be the case) a heated discussion like the one happening in this thread. Many times you learn a lot, be it about the topic at hand, human behavior, how to indirectly insult people, etc. I'm sure you understand.

Thank you for letting me know how you would prefer for me to post. It's amusing that you think I care. But, you'll be happy to know I'm done posting in this thread, as I have no interest in derailing it any further.

Bosso,
Craig was not in Panic mode, I asked him about different ways of measuring because I was reading about the HSU being a bass fan. It started a snowball effect so rather than he answering the same question a hundred times he just made a post to make it easy.

AVR-Yamaha A830
amps-5 Adcom 555 in 850 watt monoblock mode
sub amp-Sanway FP14K
LCR-Dual stacked BFM DR-250's
Surrounds- Dual stacked BFM W10's
subs-12 SI 18's ported 6hz.

For it to become derailed, it has to have been at one point railed.

Just thought I'd add the "follow up" to the original AH review given all the hooplah the original one caused.

Anyone want to ante up some cash to send one to Ricci now for another suite of measurements?
