I'm probably going to kicked out of my current employment and I'll have a year or two to figure things out, I'm thinking hard about taking a cabinetry making course at Georgian college if I can heal up to be available everyday. I'm living in a haze of 8 different kinds of medication living day by day and wood working I've found to be quite therapeutic (when I'm not cutting off bits of any digits).

I would hope in a couple years time with a cabinetry making course under my belt I'd be able to create nicer looking cabinets faster, and put food on the table by doing kitchen updates, making desks, etc. unless something profound changes speaker stuff will be a cool hobby that pays for itself.

For now though I've bought a few items (calibrated Mic) have been reading anything and everything on crossover networks I can get my hands on and will hourly have a design to contribute :-)

In a weekend you could learn most if what you need to build speaker cabinets. The only real tough builds are with inlays and odd curves. The other tough part would be doing a piano finish. Find an decent cabinetmaker and in 6 to 8 hours he could show you the ropes.

I am making a tutorial video build for my minimarty starting tomorrow. I have to be done by Thursday. Will be doing some dadoes , rabbets, and veneering so you might want to check it out when I post it.

I am just not sure if after adding in the shipping, whether it still makes sense to buy the kits for folks here. It could maybe but I don't know.

When we buy raw drivers it is cheaper to buy from a Canadian source then from a discount US source and have them shipped here. For example, its cheaper to buy B&C or Eminence drivers from qcomponents.ca then PartsExpress or usspeakers.com. Its usually cheaper to buy crossover components from solen.ca then PE.

But you get discounts on all the components and when put into a kit makes things very attractively priced, but I am not sure if the cross border shipping wipes all that out.

Toronto is only 3 hours from my house.......

Spray 500 coats of black with color sanding in between, then spend a month spraying clear on it (two coats a day) - step up in grit of the sanding each time until you finish with only a soft rag and drop of compound. If you can't shave your face using it as a mirror you are not done yet. wink.gif

Second option would be in bright white with some blue LED on the back (mirror the back with a stick on mirror to reflect) make it look like it's glowing electric blue.

It's right next to search this thread above the posts, but not the very top menu.

You also my want to set your default values in your User CP

Real wood cherry veneer and 3 coats of mahogany stain and then a clear coat on top. Applied with a spray gun.

I'm helping with another group buy of waveguides and horns from the guys in Poland. It will be a while before the next one is done after this particular one because I have a lot of left over horns from previous group buys that I will need to get rid of first.

I'll try to get some extra SEOS-24's just in case anyone needs any later.

As far as I know, their prices haven't changed and I'll be helping with this one like I've done all the other ones. I'm hoping to break even this time without having anything left over. Not sure I've ever broken even on one of these, but we'll try it again.

Erich I have never ordered a WG from you before but wondered how long will this GB take to get in?

I am interested in the SEOS15 but not sure if that is part of the GB or are there other horns your getting in? And how big of a box does a pair of SEOS 15's fit in?

If they have to be shipped to another country, it would likely be cheaper if you just contacted them and had them ship directly to you. I think they will do that. It's probably more having them shipped from Poland to the US, then from here to Australia.

Hi Erich:
I'd like to order a pair of SEOS18s. How do I do that? Are they in stock or do I have to wait for the group buy? If the latter, my color preference is black.
Thanks,
Jack
