Do we know what size box, or specifically the baffle, the new Fusion 15 will use?

Dude, are you made of leprechauns? Cause that was awesome!

The Fusion-15 will be roughly 17.5” wide x 29” high x 15” deep.

Everything is done and ready to go. But I don't have a woofer here to take a photo of the kit, or package one up to get the kit weight to help figure the 'free shipping'. Parts Express just got in a couple 15" Deltalites, so I will order one on Monday to get all that finished up.

They've been out of stock for a while, then must have gotten more in on Friday. But it says only 2 available. Hopefully they order more than that so it's easy to keep them in stock.

They sent 2 samples just to be sure, and they tested 100% the same. One of the speaker designers and I tested them and were surprised at just how identical they were.

The cones are considered black. I'd probably consider them a charcoal kind of color. I will try to get some comparison photos in the next few days.

Great news. Anticipating final specs and pricing. Will parts express keep that woofer stockpiled, seems strange they got delivered only two?

They probably don't order many of those each time due to demand of 15" woofers like that. Plus they might have had a few back orders to fill.

Ok. Any consequence for future availability on the fusion 15?

I know the v1 didnt sell too well? And actually gained more attention sold out. I just hope the new fusion 15 gets off to a good start. Im hoping to order a pair.

I think v1 didn't sell that well because it was 95% the same as the tempests, it had a bit more spl at the very loudest 80 hz. It had a SEOS 12 over a 15" woofer which looks a bit funny I find. The v2 has a 15" seos and 15" woofer so it will look awesome and the 15" seos has advantages over the 12" seos too.

Just looking for some feedback, one way or the other.
such as:
a) it's snake oil don't bother
b) the frequencies the waveguide handles are not affected by this kind of added mass/dampening
c) The SEOS waveguide was designed correctly and stiff enough so while maybe an issue for other waveguides not for SEOS designs
d) experiment, by subjective listening and objective measurements

for now, I will not add putty

There's no reason to add any putty or anything to the back of the waveguides. They were made very solid.

I took before and after measurements of applying damping material to the SEOS12. There was no difference in FR or distortion.

Just curious what you guys use to demo your SEOS designs. Given that these higher efficiency designs can show off dynamics better than conventional speakers, I'd think that not just any source material would do.

The only reason that hasn't been done is because people will ask about a matching center channel. The SEOS is wide, so a center channel with woofers flanking the waveguide would require a very low crossover point due to the center to center spacing of the woofers. If it wasn't for that, it would be done.

Mostly 80s-90s rock often with something of jazz/fusion vibe. Stuff recorded before the loudness wars and digitally processed everything. Dire Straights - Brothers in Arms, Robert Plant - Shaken n Stirred, Steely Dan - A Decade of Hits, GRP All-Star Big Band, Walt Disney's Fantasia (~1984 recording), and too many others to remember. Yeah, you can probably guess my age Good old stereo...though Dave Brubeck's Take 5 is a fine choice when testing a single speaker with a test crossover.

On the other extreme are the blu-ray reference discs by some of the AVS members. Killer sound and video. Do it! Demonstration Blu-Ray Discs (Independently Authored)

Erich did you ever do any more with the 360 CD used in a coaxial?

I was curious. Thought about trying to get a 360 volt 10" .Or possibly try and make my own 12" version. These are only thoughts for now.

BUT can I get a Volt 8 pair without baffles?

I only need the coaxial itself with X-over. Shipping hopefully would be cheaper also. Trying to see how much a pair is going to cost. Then hopefully I can order a pair if they are not too steep in price shipping wise.

There's no need to use the 360 on the V-8 or V-10 because the crossover point is high enough to where the larger compression driver brings nothing to the design. The DNA-150 is perfect for those coaxials and I believe the woofers would give out before the CD.

It's smaller because of the neo magnets. If you look at the neo CD used on the back of the Faital Pro 8" or even some of the B&C models, the DNA-150 is actually bigger than those are.

I sent an adapter to TuxedoCivic that would allow the 360 to be used on the back of the 10" Eminence. But he agreed that there's just no reason to do that after testing them.

What would be your reason to use the 360?

Because it must be better....lol

I was thinking of building a coaxial 12" in a SM80 clone. Thats why I was curious on the 360. I will be building some SM100 clones first so I will just need the volt drivers and crossover. I do have the DNA-150 CD's. And while they are small they do seem quite robust.
