Marty, you should check out the recent thread about AE getting away from DIY. Maybe you could post measurements here and we could help you with a XO instead of John. You know, give him some time back I know Matt has used both the SEOS 15 and AE 15, albeit at different times. Besides, with several different insights you might get a better result.

Be prepared to do the hard work though

Speaker grille and waveguides

In a separate thread on how to make speaker grilles I asked were there any issues with sound PQ if I made a grille that went around the waveguide, ie, would there be some diffraction issues that were "listenable".
Since this is the main thread on DIY waveguides possible I should have asked here, re-post below:

I planned on leaving the lower ports visible, did not want to cove them up, from a sound PQ viewpoint is that ok to do though?
If so I might to give the speaker a totally clean look when grille on.

Q:
Will the high freq short size wave (green) hit the grille edge and potentially cause some sound quality issues? Diffraction.

Mtb, I've got some grills on my speakers that are along the base of the waveguide. I plan to do some serious comparison listening with the grill on and off. But haven't yet. Also will test with them on and off. So it you're patient I can help eventually.

Tux - sure I'll put the neo magnets in the baffle during build but won't make my grille till you post some measurements.
I do plan on making my grille as "thin to win" as possible.
