I wonder how the 15" Eminense Deltalite woofer used in the Fusion-15 compares to the JBL-2226 used instead of the Eminense?

I have all of the parts to build a 2-way active version of the Fusion-15 with the JBL-2226 instead of the Eminense Deltalite.

All I need to complete this project is another iNuke1000dsp (I purchased two but one was DOA with no warranty off craigslist) and to figure out how to setup the active filters. The thing that sucks is that I am broke with barely enough money to pay my bills due to health issues, and I can not afford a mic either. Which is absolutely necessary for help with setting up the active filters, of which, I do not know how to do. (note- LTD02 has offered to help with the active crossover setup with me taking and emailing him the measurements).

So with that being said, it would be really nice to just be able to purchase the 15" Eminense Deltalite woofer, and pre-built Fusion-15 crossover. Any one care to chime in on how much I would be giving up by going with the Fusion-15 kit versus a Seos-15 + DNA-360 + JBL-2226 active setup?

Will the preassembled Fusion-15 crossover be available soon, or should I order the Fusion-15's now to make sure I don't miss the boat?

Dude, are you made of leprechauns? Cause that was awesome!

Yes, I have heard mostly all of them, and yes, I really like the way they sound, and although I can't recall which Seos design uses the Eminense DeltaLite woofer, I was pretty impressed with all of them.

I just really hate to sell my JBL-2226's as I have doubts that the 15" Eminense Deltalite would be in the same performance category as the 2226, although, I could be wrong. Which is why I want some outside opinions.

If I sell my 2226's for say, $165 each, that would net me $230, and I would also save $200 by not having to buy an additional iNuke1000dsp, and another $100 on the mic. That is a total of $530.

I already have the Seos-15's and DNA-360's, so all that is needed would be the 15" Deltalite's ($175ea x2=$350) , the crossover parts ($60 x 2=$120) the baffles ($18ea x2=$36) terminal cups ($10 ea x2-=$20) wood, glue, and wire (=$100).

That all comes out to over $600 for the pair. Plus, I already have the wood cut for my original design with the 2226 in a tower style enclosure.

I originally assumed that if I sold my JBL-2226's I could build the Fusion-15's cheaper, but once I did some investigating, it appears that was not the case, as it would save me over $100 by sticking to what I originally intended! Oh well!

found this one, open baffle, 1 meter. not the best circumstances, but the measurement looks pretty good.

Measured at 2m, levels set to 90dB (same voltage between the two designs, they also share the same HF network)

I guess the distortion "hump" ( centered between 1K to 2K / common to both pics & @ 40db down ), is the Denovo 360 ?

It seems to match the DNA360's distortion profile, yes.

That particular compression driver has been through a lot and opened/closed quite a few times so we knew it had some extra distortion in it because of that. It was okay on previous tests.

When MTG90 was here for the Parts Express Audio Fest a few months ago we opened the compression driver a couple times and when put it back together we heard some distortion while listening to the speaker prior to those tests. We were going to open it back up to make sure it was straight or put in a different diaphragm.....but forgot before he left. I told him I'd just send him a new one and a second diaphragm once the new batch came in. That's why the charts hadn't been posted yet.

Sometimes if the back plate is opened up and put back together you can get something around the voice coil, or even have things not line up right, or screws not torqued the same, etc. That's why I make sure to test all of them before shipping.

Back when Zilch was working with waveguides and compression drivers he opened up some different models and when put back together had the same thing happen. So he just opened them back up, removed the diaphragm, put it back in, tighten the screws and all was fine. It's not uncommon, but most that use CD's don't normally open them up.

also, keep in mind it is a 2 meter measurement, which drops spl by 6db. distortion scales pretty well with spl, so for a 1 m equivalent, "eyeball" distortion about 6db lower than in the picture, so even the peak of that 'hump' is about -45db or less than 1% distortion.

Thanks for that confirmation .

That jives quite well with my experiences for all the older generation of B&C drivers ( ie de25 , de900, etc. etc. ) .

DIY logos

Were these ever made?
I'd like to order 3 DIY Soundgroup logos for my subwoofers and 5 SEOS logos for my Fusion-8's

Or, if there is a 3D CAD file post it and possibly at my W I can have them printed for me.

I'll have to figure out shipping for international orders and how to go about filling those. I've already sent in drawings to get prices on each waveguide size. They're pretty reasonable.

I'd take 2 of the "DIY Sound Group"....Brand marketing 101 stuff, nice to see.

Back on post #11179 ;
Interest in the long-forgotten SEOS emblems resurfaced.

Those emblems were designed (and a limited number were made) by my son as High School project. He used a CAD program called Autodesk Inventor, and they were produced on the school's 3D printer. Because of the "student/school" nature of this project I do not feel good about selling or accepting $'s for the few I had left. Therefore; the few I had left will soon be shared and mailed away (PMs sent).

The good news ; even though my son is now away from home in college - I just found the original CAD files for the following images. The Autodesk files (.ipt) appear to be small enough to be easily emailed and shared.

If someone here has Autodesk Inventor (64 bit version) and access to a 3D printer and would like to try to produce some more, please drop me a PM and I will email the files.

Very cool cuzed. At least let us pay shipping for them? I'm excited to get a pair. I was looking at my speakers today wondering where to install them. My baffle doesn't have much space and I'd hate to put them on the back. I might build a new pair of speakers
