Yeah, it will work. I don't use MP3 for distortion measurements, though, so try to save as a WAV file if you player will play from that.

I have tested with MP3 and didn't see any distortion problems, but I just don't trust it (too many variables in encoders and rates). For frequency response, MP3 or WAV would be fine.

The original OM packages came with CD, the new ones come with both CD and DVD (I think). Hardware is the same.
Mastering a BluRay disk (for more than 5.1) is another can of worms altogether, probably won't ever happen.

Ahhhh with the DVD i can select what channel out of the 5.1, no more switching everything off, damn convienient :0)
