Hurt Locker - opening explosion
Transformers 1 - IronHide rocket-flip
Kung Fu Panda - "skidoosh"
WotW - lots of stuff
Star Trek - when all the ships enter hyper speed
Incredible Hulk - sonic canons
2012 - Yellowstone explosion

And I have a feeling that the Inception Blu-ray is going to top them all!!!

In terms of LFE, size does matter!

2012 was rather disappointing in the LFE department I thought. I wanted more from the Yellowstone explosion than they put in there.

One more title to look at is Gamer. Not sure what's in there below 10Hz, but there is a lot of strong LFE in there. Too bad the movie isn't better.

There is no question about 9. It has several demo worthy scenes. Not sure about the others though.

Without running spectrums, hard to say if 5-15hz is there at a high level. Some of the movies listed definitely do not have significant 5-15hz......

Sorry, adding to the list - not removing.

Give Hot Fuzz a try. Not sure what the low end readings are but it's pretty constant throughout. A bit over the top to tell you the truth but it's obvious that's what they were going for.

There's no doubt about Serenity! This is not my image, it's from the waterfall thread in the non-diy Sub area. I figure you know about that one, it's a sticky in that section

Knowing was certainly LOUD and had its fun parts, but I dont think it belongs in a 15Hz down category.

I think The Incredible Hulk is much better than WOTWs. I do have to turn WOTWs lower, -8 vs TIHs -3 but I get a ton more super low stuff from TIH.

I liked the loudness of the LFE on Knowing, but I am taking it off the list as it didnt seem like 15Hz down though it was good.

Xmen: Origins definately stays on the list. I had to turn it up louder than usual, -13dB on the master and +4 on the subwoofer. To compare Knowing was -15dB master -2 sub, Incredible Hulk -15dB m and -3 sub, WOTWs -15dB -8dB.

XMEN ORIGINS WOLVERINE IS WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
It was still quiet so I brought the master to -10dB and left the sub level and it is even better and still has plenty of room to go but I am more than satisfied where it's at. This movie is the perfect example of what I want. Pretty sure not only is there a lot from 15Hz on down but there looks to be a lot of single digits.

I guess I should have probably asked this in the Non-Diy section, but I know most of the guys here have the giant subs and know the difference.
Have you played any good GAMES that have super low bass?
I would not expect anything movie quality >15 or so, but I know some come pretty close.

I know it would be hard to get an accurate waterfall as things are always different, (unless its something like a cut scene) but I have the feeling that some of the good ones really have some chunky low stuff.

Red Dead Redemption truly does. I have no idea how low, but when you are in the middle of the desert, (usually way south in Mexico is the best) and a thunderstorm rolls up, those cracks can make my room shake almost like WoTW.

I have a high-pass at 17Hz, so I know I am missing out on all of the really REALLY good stuff here, but I know that some of the lows come through, they are just rolled off a little.

.02

/Threadbackontrack

I will say that I actually enjoyed the Bass during the new Star Trek, some did not think it was super low, but during the enterprise going to warp, and also the close up of the giant laser drill my windows shake.

I am not a gamer but I think you gamers should post stuff about it here. Funny you mentioned that thunderstorm again, I was just talking to my woman about it. Since I got to get a grip of bass movies, I had to let her get The Stepfather and some other chick flick today. Stepfather was DTS so i was givin her **** sayin maybe her chocie wasnt so bad, but I had to bump the sub up to +4, could have gotten away with +6 - +8 but I didnt want to chance that they'd sneak somethin good in there. Was all thunder and bumbs and thuds.

Star Track was one of the first 3 movies I got when I started this build. It had a few good parts but nothing super low at high volume. I bottomed out several times with it at the beginning though, the tight hard punch after she gives birth.

Have you ever played any of Tom Danleys recorded stuff on your subs?

From what I remember others saying he has some pretty insane recordings. Fireworks and Space shuttle launch and others. I am not sure where to get some of these recordings but others like Bossabass, Maxmercy and others know where to find them. Here is the Space shuttle launch

http://www.archive.org/details/Launc...MissionSts-123

I know when I build my new subs here in about a month I will be trying to get some of these recordings to see how I do.

And after reading about Inception I think I will have to go out and buy it. How was the movie on your system?

I remember seeing a space shuttle launch here on AVS a while back.
It was amazing.
On the Audio Test DVD here there was a recording of Fireworks done by Danley I believe, It would have fun with your setup.

Call of Duty: Black Ops has crazy bass, especially the semi-credits video the game flashes up when you start it up. Definite house-rattler. Explosions and helicopters seem to reach pretty deep, but hard to tell without a FFT .

I have this one mix CD that has a ton of subsonics to it. I will have to find it and send you a copy, I don't think you can buy it in the stores or even torrent it anymore. I remember getting it off of IRC years ago....
