I've been looking through the Blu-ray Discs: Reviewer's Recommendations thread as I plan to get a bunch of movies after installing the 21's, but I think I need to be more specific than "great audio" and target the advice of the guys that can acheive 5Hz-15Hz to begin with, that even have the ability to experience this in their selections. So I'd like everyone's "WOTW's, The Incredible Hulk, Black Hawk Down" recommendations please. Not at all concerned with 20Hz on up, thanks!

That one definitely rocks my room and I'm currently limited to about 13Hz. As soon as I get my "Sub-subwoofer" up and running I'll find out what it can do in single digits.

I've been sketching ideas, basically using woofers as motors to drive much larger surface area panels. I'm considering scaling it down some but right now the plan is for 96 ft^2 or a little less than the equivalent of 100 15" woofers in Infinite Baffle.

Im rebuilding my HT room so I would definitely be interested in trying this. I have 4 TC2000 15" woofers not used already.

Isn't War of the Worlds still pretty much the standard for sub 20hz content?

Yep - Randy Thom did the sound design for that one, and many of his other works are being mentioned here as well. Like Percy Jackson, which comes pretty close to WotW level stuff at times.

So we've got train your dragon and Percy Jackson so far. I'll get those tonight or tomorrow. I have WOTWs, my favorite of course. Waiting to hear back from Nick about the 21's before I start my Mod Build Log. Adding 6 2"x4"s to each box as the sub itself causes the most flex, so one in each corner of the sub...help with weight as well.. and 2 down by the port cause that causes flex too.

Can't wait to see how that modded subwoofer idea pans out Montekay!

Pulse is a great bass film but it didn't bother my dual Q18's at all at reference.

Still a pretty good test though.

There's also a scene near the end of The New Daughter (with Kevin Costner) that beats the pants off Pulse. Content down to 7Hz.

The water wall scene at the end (second to last scene) of The last Air Bender gets very deep lots of 15hz and some 5hz. Man that movie is a stinker though.

Dark night is great!
Also even though it's not a blu-ray, Titan A.E. is an reference movie for me, amazing!!!
Also terminator salvation was pretty sweet and G.I. Joe was good to.

Blasting brown notes for 10 years and counting!

I have no way of confirming but someone recently said that Apocalypse Now has a 5hz tone that was originally scored into a certain scene. Not sure if its on the release or not.

Another vote for Titan A.E. It has been my 'go-to' bass demo disc for a long, long time. This and the Haunting are the last two (i think) on my list of demo discs that NEED to come out on BR already.

Check out the openning Earth destroyed sequence along with the ending 'ice field' sequence. Great bass scenes to watch. Otherwise, the entire movie is loaded with very wide bandwidth bass throughout.

My Dual 18" LLT subs 120dB down to 10hz

So true...And so very, very sad that it is. Fantastic source material got shredded by Hollywood.

I couldn't tell you ho low it goes, but LOTR was pressurizing my living room like crazy, especially the 5 minute intro that explains the history of the Ring and the initial defeat of the dark lord.

Kung Fu Panda is supposed to have a few wicked scenes (Skidoosh).

The audio was the best part of Titan A.E.--story was meh, but the soundtrack was sweet and the bass was good.

Final Fantasy: Spirits Within and The Incredibles are definitely bassfest go-to's. Not familiar with how much <15hz content there is in FF but Incredibles has tons of wide bandwidth bass effects.
