Alright nite crew, you still available? I didn't do my room first, cuz I need the subs to show me my weaknesses. So now that I caulked my window, the entire window rattles in the track. I am 10 minutes away from just cauking it up rendoring the window unopenable unless anyone has any good ideas. Drill and drop a couple screws in?

I ended up taking the springs out of a bunch of my windows. Easier to make operational again than calking things up. Not sure what kind of windows you have, but you can always look into foam tape

bosso, why not just ask what his room gain function is, then from ilkka's 2pi measurements, you can calculate all you need?

or, is there something else that you are looking for? ;-)

Oh damn, I was AFK for a few days and I missed out.
I need to get AVS on my phone...

Anyway, Krypto, If you need some help setting up the software let me know and I can help you configure it remotely in the evening. (I am one of the night owls.)

As far as a few other questions that were posed earlier in the thread.

Yes most microphones will use a common mic clip that can screw on to any stand. Once you start getting into the super specialized mics you need to start worrying about stands specifically for them.

The Behringer ECM8000 (What I have) Will use the same clip to connect to a mic stand as any other regular mic, including the "Omni-mic" system, and the other common measuring mics.
http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=242-144
That should work great on the end of any mic stand.
(I have several SM57's, SM58's, and the Behringer that I use with the same size clip.)

3AM, very glad to hear that. I am hoping to get my hand held and walked through, I am humble enought to admit that I am going to need quite a bit of help to do this as accurately as possible. I'd like to properly set the mic up first and run a few tests without any changes. My first concerne is that if I by-pass my ATI Radeon card and run audio out from the factory card, already things will be running different than I usually do. So I'd like to take some initial movie measurments playing from the Bluray player, as well as Netflx, HULU, and Windows Media Player... off the ATI card.

Also, I plan on running the mic as well as my Audyssey mic to Ace Hardware for screws that I will attatch to the 2"x4" stand

Hope we can do this via PM/thread post/email/messenger, phone could be an issue if thats what you/anyone else preffered.

Yes! Youtube that s**t up!

This thread should pick up some serious traction real soon when the mic makes the drop.

Thanks for outing yourself Cerdic! Seriousely no one knows just how nervous I really am, I pushed myself on everyone...and pushed and pushed... and I made all these vids and pics and boasted, now I am scared to death to eat my own words. Simply poping in to say hey I'm watchin makes me feel a bit better
