Hi to all,
I have built the microphone in a pen tip with 10uF capacitor, and the mic capsule I used is from JLI Electronics, but I am confused now if the measurement will be accurate just above 1kHz. Please have in mind that I am not an electronics engineer at all, but my question is if I leave the mic without pen tip (on open space), will the curve above 1kHz straighten, or what is the best way to straighten the measurement above 1kHz (I need accurate measurement from 20Hz to 20kHz)? Is there other way to calibrate the mic because I have no room nor speakers for such things?

Thank you in advance.

If you need completely accurate measurements, go buy a umik1 from CSL.

These mics have variances above 1khz. You can send it out for calibration if you really want.

pre-amp?

Great project!

I just got it working and it sounds great. However, I do want to use it to catch ambient sound so need more sensitivity at lower volumes (hopefully without noise). Can anyone recommend a straightforward pre-amp circuit I could make...?
