I looked at the pictures gallery of DIY systems on this forum.
The pictures are very cool but can I please see some videos of your DIY subwoofer systems?

Please., can you folks post some videos of your very cool systems??
Thanks.

On my humble budget system:
I noticed the soda jumping around inside on some soda containers when I was playing a movie L.A. Battle so I took a small clip and pressed play to record my video.

Oops forgot the link? to the video??

Well you know Krypto has a few videos. And so does Notnyn and Bossa. I dont have any videos yet but being an audiophile person I hat eto upload a video that shows a bunch of distortion.

When I get a be field recorder and can adjust levels I will upload a video myself.

I really enjoy any videos from forum contributers. Generally, it adds so much context to a contributers posts, etc. In your case, it's very cool what you've done with the four drivers/boxes/amps, but it would be much more enjoyable if you moved the camera with very gentle movements. Always give consideration to the end user, and smoothness really adds to the experience, just a fyi. Also, for some reason, you're overloading the mic/recorder even with a modest speaking voice too.

You're right, something like a video gallery would be really nice. I have none, or I'd submit something,...i'll have to do something about that. Great idea, I hope this thread flourishes

Thanks

I look foreward to seeing your videos.

Thanks for the tips on doing a better video.

The camera is a very budget Aiptek 720p camera that I got on black friday 2007.

I spent most of the day trying to charge the video camera battery and forgot to use a tripod.

Today I am going to redo the video but this time definitively and positively using the tripod.
My second mistake was speaking in a sugar fuelled hyper voice very close to the camera mic.......sigh.(I used to be in the military a long time ago and I had a bad habit of ticking off drill instructors by speaking in a normal voice but it sounded very, very loud).

And I will try to find other containers for another test.

Go for it!!

I tried a cat on the desktop and at the first rumble it jumped!! three feet in the air and ran out before I managed to film.

The family dog growled at me.

The wife said uh, uh, uh, no way Jose!

Plans can be found in my signature. One can be built for under $500 with 3 sheets of 3/4" plywood. You need a good 12Hz highpass (MiniDSP recommended) and 300W at 8 or 2 ohms for power as well to get the most out of it.

The video features my older tapped horn design as well. That one is less space friendly, but has a little better sensitivity. About 3.5 sheets of ply to build that one.

I had fun looking at those videos.
Those were 120 + at the listening scenes with a cool projector.

I redid the video using a tripod with camera.

I USE to think I was a "Bass Head" until I joined this forum. I've come to find out I'm about average here. That system probibly would beat out the system I use to have in my Ford Bronco, 4 ported MTX T7000 15's with 4 2300x amps pushing 900w to each. I only had to pressurize the vehicle, not and entire theater room like that. I couldn't even listen at full volume in the Bronco for long and CERTAINLY not while driving due to severe blurry vision while cranking ICP I'm suprized I don't have any hearing loss due to my younger years in life.

My theater is pretty tame compared to most here, 4 mfw-15 drivers in 2 dual opposed cabs soon to be powered by an EP4000.

Pair of dual opposed 5ft^3 cabs with mfw-15 drivers! Boom on the cheap!

I meant no disrespect, I enjoy vids regardless of quality, as it's about the content. But vids online, interacting with frame rates etc, really benefit from super gentle panning and movement in general.

Thanks

All systems are cool.
I want to see vids.

I,e. a four inch sub from a roller rocker chair I had a few years ago and a friend was giving me grief saying thats never going to produce any bass.
Yep, sure

I took the still working 4 inch subwoofer box from what was left of my roller rocker chair(my two kids jumped up and down on Daddys roller rocker chair a few times and zip!! that was it! for Daddys roller rocker chair and of course it was gremlins or orcs or something else that did in the rocker chair according to my two kids......sigh).

I went and borrowed a seventy inch diameter by ten feet long concrete pipe and made an end cap for it.
Then I placed the 4 inch sub inside and hey!! the bass was much improved.

Being a DIY guy in sound I went and got a concrete pipe that was ten inches in diameter by three feet long and I made an end cap for that concrete pipe and placed the four inch sub inside the 10" diam pipe and then placed that pipe inside the fourty inch diam concrete pipe and hey!! the bass was much! improved!

You know where this is going right?, right!. right!
Yeah!!

I went and got a 15 inch diam concrete pipe and placed the 10' diam pipe with the four inch sub inside that.

Then I placed the 15 inch concrete pipe inside the 40 inch D. concrete pipe and HEY!! the bass was much improved!!

Then I called my friend over to get inside the seventy inch diameter concrete pipe with me and demod the four inch sub.

My friend was thats a four inch sub in there?? frack!!!

All systems are COOL!!

More vids please.

I did that three years ago.
The roller rocker 4 sub was given away.
The concrete pipes went back to the Company that lent them to me.

Let me see if I can find a new Company that has concrete pipes and that most importantly will let me borrow concrete pipes, moving truck and positioning forklifts and folks to operate them.
