I wouldn't watch battle:LA with the kids around. It is one of the most heavy LFE movies this year. Got 5 stars on the Movies with bass list. Check out that thread...all movies are rated on their amount of bass. Definitely get a blu ray copy tho to take advantage of the dynamic range of dts-MA.

Lol I used some trim from home depot for the frame, and then glued magnets into the wood frame.

I think it's all on page 2.. maybe 3..

edit.. It's on 3..

War of the Worlds is the standard I think. I'm especially partial to LotR. If you have the extended editions, the part where Gandalf speaks the language of Mordor during the Council of Elrond is pretty intense (among others).

Sounds Good to Me... keeping track of my audio projects.

would over extending the woofer cause a loud, almost crack type sound? I was playing pods emerge scean in wotw at minus 5db and towards the end of the scean I heard a crack from one of my subs. But it seemed in place with the soundtrack... so I and confused as to I over drove, or if that was part of the experience.

Try to reenact the scene see if it does it again... stay close to the sub to see if it is indeed a physical crack sound of something actually hitting or just a sound emitting from it... it could also be the amp clipping on and off..

I was clipping my amp on that scene set up one way....does it sound more like a BWAK sound? The problem was my BFD was clipping also when it was set up a different way. It's driving me crazy.

I was watching the clip lights and I was driving the amp into clip a couple of times. The amp clipping doesn't make its own sound does it? it would just clip the signal... right?

Clipping the signal does make its own sound... Which also depends on whether the limiter is on or not.

Well I guess in the simplest most basic sense, anything that is not the exact copy of the original signal is "its own sound".

But this was an audible "crack" but it coincided with the ripping of the concrete during the earth quake...

And for your information, I do not have the limiter on.

Does not having the limiter on mean it will not "soft clip"? I think most of these amps tout soft clipping but I'm not sure how soft it really is or what having the limiter off means.

Neither do I all I know is what the manual states..

So the manual states that the limiter prevents the high frequency clipping.. but what if you are only sending 120hz and below to the amp?

Do you have the low cut set to off? Also what are your gain controls set at? I was having the same problem and found a few solutions that solved it.

Terminator doesn't have the same real heavy low LFE that is found in WOTW. You may still clip even with the gain turned down. Hopefully it works for you though.

I find that part to be the hardest on my system. I usually cringe a little bit right there now after I clipped my ep2500 real good the first time I pushed that part with my LLT's. Doesn't happen anymore but I still think that is the most intense part of the whole sequence.

My Dual 18" LLT subs 120dB down to 10hz

Yeah it seems that scene will have more for me once I get the mini inline. For now, it just seems to lack oomph.
