Does anyone know if one can still purchase MFW-15 drivers? I looked on the website and couldn't find a link. I emailed the guy too and never received a response.

I thought everyone, (Eric and Danny) ran out? Eric did mention that Eminence could build more, but the cost would be more than $75/ea and there would have to be a pretty big order, not just 10 or 15.

If you guys think it's worth getting more, I could look into it. But when I was at the factory I was told they would be around $100 each. Shipping averaged about $15 - $16 for most people. So the end price would obviously be about $115.

That was about 3.5 months ago but I can't see pricing changing that much. Maybe $5 if any at all.

Eric, with the recent price hike of the Dayton RS's, there might still be a demand for the MFW's even at $115/shipped. *shrugs shoulders*

But it would be a fair bit of work and upfront money from you though.

I could always ask for a smaller amount and see what they say. Never know.

A good chunk of the money set aside to help with group buys is about to be dropped on getting the SEOS waveguide made up for a good price.

2 weeks ago I was able to get the 10" and 12" Delatlite's for fairly cheap and figured DIY guys would like those. I didn't buy many, just 26 of each. They're significantly cheaper than PE and I think cheaper than anyone else for that matter. Plus neo magnets are about to cause them to skyrocket in price so I thought I should buy before that happened.

I need to list them on the site and move them out and keep things rolling. But the site is about to get a face lift, so I figured I'd wait. Probably not the best group buy thing to put $7k towards, but it will hopefully help some people out eventually. They were some of the best drivers used in the E-Waves.

A seos flat pack with wave guide and woofer would be awesome. Including the compression driver would be even more awesome. All you have to do is provide crossovers and now you're providing a complete speaker kit. Might as well register your new business, write off these multi thousand dollars investments, and collect on some of the fruits of your labor.

Running two businesses would be, ugh...

I'll call next week and see what they say. It can't hurt to ask.

After shipping, they'd only be about $45 less than the DVC 15" from Parts Express. I think those are $160 shipped.

It's not a huge difference, but I guess it is if you bought 4 or so.

There's more coming than just a flat pack for the SEOS. I'm working on a full front baffle as well and gobs of other things. Lucky for me, it will probably all come in at the same time! But my landscape season will be slowing down a lot very soon, so it will be okay.

Nothing really to write off if you buy for X and sell for X.

I'm REALLY wanting to get the SEOS made in plastic. I've got a good estimate and I can front the cost of the injection mold (very expensive). But if I do that, there's no money left to actually buy any parts! I'd need to get 1000 parts made (minimum). However, dividing it out, each part wouldn't be too expensive. Like well under $40 I think. Figure everyone needs at least 2. Maybe I pay for 250 pair right off the bat. That leaves only 250 people needed......that's easy.

Because the SEOS is a 100% DIY community idea/design, I thought it would be neat to set up a page and take donations. Basically donations would get you the waveguide once they were made. Donate $X and get this many waveguides once they were produced kind of deal. It would be an epic DIY community accomplishment that's for sure. Heck, we could even have "challenges" between the 4 big DIY forums! It could be interesting, I'm just not sure.

But I hate the idea of taking downpayments and haven't had to worry about that yet.

I did think about doing that, haven't decided yet. It might be worth a try so I'll do a little more research. The price should come in around $35 each, maybe a little less. If there were many more made, they design a different kind of mold. It's more expensive, however the parts would be cheaper. But we're talking 10,000+ parts at that point.

The nice thing about the company I spoke with is that they do the injection mold stuff in the US.

The fiberglass models should be available very soon. I was suppose to get some this week, but looks like next week.

That's not that far off, the last one I got from Danny at Gr research was $101.00 after shipping! That's what $22.00 for standard shipping, guess your getting/giving better deals on shipping......

If four sealed don't do it for me, I'd be interested in 4 more.....

I sent a PM to Erich back around the end of March/beginning of April regarding buying four of the MFW-15's and never heard back. I sent another PM (6-29 regarding buying two) toward the end when they were running out and never heard back. Oh well, I guess my wife is happier that I did not buy these. Four MFW-15's, Two TC Sound 12's and one 18" Maelstrom-X would have been over kill in a 1,250 CF room.

petew,

The attached picture is how I have them now which may be the way they came, been awhile..

edit:
Well in looking at the pictures closer it does appear this is the way Erich sent them based off of the shipping labels. I apologize I cannot run downstairs and look at one right now but I cannot get down into the basement (will have to wait for the wife to come home).

I bought the two MFW's from exojam. They arrived today. Double-boxed with peanuts. The white box was still sealed from the factory. If you want a pair, don't hesitate to deal with him.
