Actually I need three. smile.gif I thought that I had plenty of time, but not anymore. I was planning on building my new speakers and comparing them to my JTR's, but I opened my mouth yesterday and priced my JTR's and now they are sold. The new owner is scheduled to get them around December 8th, so I need to have my DIY speakers (at least two) ready by then. I will operate in phantom mode until I get the last one from John. Glad I checked the classifieds yesterday morning. smile.gif

I may have a pair for sale, later on, since I also ordered from John. John would not let me change the new (10 day old order). At least I will be able to get a pair of speakers built, hopefully before my JTR's have to go.

My TD12Ms arrived yesterday. They are too damn sexy, up close and in person.

Wish I don't have to hide these behind the screen.

I did. 2 TD18's with the Apollo motor. Plans for them are for bass guitar cabs.

On a side note 50% payment was sent on my order for 11 AE TD drivers all with Apollo motors on Oct. 25th last year so I am at day #373 since payment. No drivers yet and little to no chance they will be here before the end of the year from what I can tell. biggrin.gif

THis sucks. I've got a pair of Apollo TD15Ms that probably won't be here this year. The thing that really gets me is that this is my ONLY diy project in the last year. And I can't even start it. It makes me feel like a non-DIYer, if that makes any sense.

It makes sense. It is a stop light that hasn't changed. It is a theft from the process of continuous creativity. No one anticipated what the end of this would be like. Too many of us still don't know.

It is 8 weeks and a day since one new prospect was told "4-6 weeks" to delivery of a pair of TD12M's.

So, John decides to censor once again on his forum. I wrote something similar to; Any updates concerning the drivers? Since we have paid 50% up front almost a year ago I think we deserve some info from time to time.

What is really going on over there? I understand that things have not gone the way John planned, but I ask myself: When he was waiting for parts to leave China, did he not contact the company from time to time to get updates on his order? If they ignored his questions, did that not upset him? When the company doing the plating of his T-yokes don't deliver in time, will he not ask for explanations and ETA? I for one are really fed up with this, and if it is not allowed for simple questions to be asked on his forum, then I take it up somewhere else, where he can not censor me. I'm getting really frustrated that he does not show any understanding nor respect for me as a customer who paid 50% of my drivers up front 13 months ago! 50% of my money that helped his company back on it's feet. The same company who delivers drivers to people who ordered a couple of weeks back? I mean, I ordered these drivers for a project planned for last winter, and as far as I can tell I will not have them for this winter either. Am I really alone out there to have these feelings?

386 days since payment...With nothing to show for my $1750 given and not even an update on the Apollo drivers since day 1. I fully expect it will be well into 2013 before I see anything. You could say i am a little frustrated by this point.

John led us on to believe that once the steel from China arrived, everything would be smooth sailing. Clearly that wasn't the case and it's pretty ridiculous that he didn't see this coming. Everyday I check my email with a faint hope that I got a PayPal invoice but nope. Basically a month since his last update with nothing to show.

For my next purchase of pro sound drivers I would have a tough time going the AE route. I like to support small domestic companies but everyone has their limits. I wasn't complaining when the steel was in china but right now everything is in John's hands.... and all I get is silence.

Totally agree with you Eternal Velocity. Even though not being domestic for me, I too like to support small companies whenever I can, but this experience have made me doubt my choice. BTW, since I posted my complaint here several more inquiries concerning ETA has been deleted on AE's forum.

I mean seriously I know he is a busy guy but I am too and this is his business, part of his customer base and his PR and reputation we are talking about. It does not take more than 5 minutes to make a post once a week on Sat morning or whatever saying something like.

Update...Blah Blah...
Working on batch of 20 15" IB drivers 4 ohm. Next up TD10M 4ohm.
Phase plugs still delayed by vendor. Problems with plating being looked into.
34 motors off to the vendor to be plated looks like ETA on those is 4 weeks.
Etc.....

You can do that on your smart phone while taking a crap.

I don't care if the update is all bad news. "Hey guys I'm tired of stressing over woofers and going on vacation for 2 weeks to Hawaii. I'm waiting on vendors to come through anyway." Something. Entire months with no update and ignored inquiries from some of us who gave him thousands of dollars over a year ago and have received nothing to date is inexcusable in my opinion. I would never do that if I cared about my business at all.

That's nice to read. Although it essentially confirm's ricci's idea that those of us who ordered Apollo drivers won't be getting them this year most likely.

That posting is the one which followed the most recent censorship.

There is a sign where I work: "A company is only successful if it has satisfied customers".

AE doesn't seem to understand this.
